Wow, it's been a long time on the grind.
This upcoming playtest focuses on the playable Scout robot and an elevator based gauntlet. You'll be fighting through a series of authored encounters with different enemy combinations, resource pressure, score, and the core ECHO//syntax combat systems.
The game has also gone through a pretty major visual change recently. I hope it's enjoyable and not hard to see!
For this test, I’m especially interested in:
How Scout feels to control
If you could tell what enemies are doing
How the lift encounters flow
Tension, Energy, Spark, Priming and enemy states
Difficulty, recovery, and scoring
Performance, bugs, and progression issues
How the new visual direction feels in actual combat
Most importantly: How fun and addictive it can be.
This is still an early development build, so the point isn’t to show something perfectly polished. The point is to find out what works, what doesn’t, and what needs attention before I move further into production. Right now the focus is almost entirely on fixes, tuning, readability, and getting the run ready for players.
I'm looking forward to having a more complete demo for Next Fest.
Fight. Salvage. Ascend.
