I've added Steam Workshop integration to WinGrid — now you can not only create your own profiles, but also share them with other players and download other people's settings and images with one click!
What's new:
- All Workshop subscriptions are automatically copied into the "Workshop Overlays" folder next to the app.
- Profiles contain cards, zone settings, and overlays (top/bot/left/right) — with images and animated GIFs.
- One-click application: the "Load" button (📂) in the app's top bar → select "profile.json" — done.
How to apply a profile from the Workshop:
1. On the profile's page in the Workshop, click Subscribe — Steam will download it.
2. Launch WinGrid — subscriptions appear automatically in the "Workshop Overlays" folder.
3. Click the "Load Profile" button (📂) and select "profile.json" from the profile's folder. Everything applies automatically.
How to upload your own profile to the Workshop:
1. In the app, click "Save Profile" (💾) — a "custom profile" folder appears with the profile.json file and an assets folder.
2. Zip its contents into an archive (so profile.json is at the root of the archive).
3. Launch WinGrid_Workshop_Uploader.exe and fill in the fields: ZIP file, title, preview, description, visibility — Public.
4. Click "Publish to Steam Workshop" — the upload goes through the Steam API, and after publishing you'll get a link to the item page.
Preview & media tips (to avoid errors):
- Preview: JPG / PNG / GIF formats, up to 1 MB, at least 512×512 (ideally 1024×1024). Animated GIFs are supported.
Questions? Found a bug?
The Workshop has just launched. If anything goes wrong — say an upload error or a profile not applying — post in the WinGrid discussions, describe what happened, and I'll fix it.
