A new update is here for AudioTheory Piano Keys. It includes some improvements to the chord and scale libraries plus new instrument effects. Here's what's new:
The chord and scale libraries have been updated so that the main keyboard section is fully on screen at all times. This allows them to function as a dedicated practice view, and feel less like a popup/selection screen for scales and chords.
Perhaps more of a big deal for AudioTheory Guitars, but the new guitar instrument presets are available here too, for those that want their piano to sound like a guitar! These have been recorded by myself using real guitars (the electric guitar sounds come from a Fender Telecaster and the acoustic a Fender San Miguel).
The light theme has been updated to now support the chord library, chord inspector, scale library and scale viewer. The two alt. dark themes also have different backgrounds in the chord library, and scale viewer. The changes here mean that overall each theme is now more distinct across every part of the app.
Audio output dropdown specifically for Mac and Linux (this already existed for Windows)
Load chords to the main view directly from the chord inspector
Scale playback options now also show from the scale inspector
Scales are now loaded directly from the scale inspector rather than the scale library itself
Chord and scale inspector can now be opened directly from the 'Chord' and 'Scale' toolbar items
Loaded scale message now displays at the top of a screen whenever a scale preset is set
