Greetings Commanders!
Since the launch of the demo I’ve been busy working on lots of new content and improvements. It’s been a year now since the first playtest. Getting your feedback has always been the best way to improve the game, that’s why we are running another playtest for Main Sequence starting next week on September 17th.
Playtest Week
Unlike the playtest last year, this playtest is only going to be available from September 17th to September 25th. During that time you’ll have access to the full content of the game, and I’m excited to see how far you make it in a week.
The demo will remain available during that time and so to access the playtest you will have to sign up separately, and it will appear as its own app in your Steam library. If you have signed up for the previous playtest, you won’t get a notification when it goes live so make sure to check your Steam library on the 17th and you should see the playtest available.
New Playtest Content
There’s a lot of new content you’ll be able to discover and build in the playtest. Starting from where the demo leaves off with the Slipstream Drive research, you’ll have to travel to other sectors of the solar system to mine Cobalt and Graphite in order to make Electromagnetic Science and Quantum Science. You’ll be able to discover abandoned stations, and visit the Trading Outpost to unlock new blueprints and modules.
Once you defeat the Relic Destroyer that is lurking on the edge of the solar system, you’ll be able to research the Interstellar Warp Drive and travel to other star systems where you’ll find the resources to research Astronomic Science and Xenobiologic science to unlock the ultimate late-game equipment and modules.
Multiplayer
An experimental version of multiplayer will be available in the playtest, so invite a friend to playtest to expand the scale of your industrial operation even further. You are more likely to encounter some and performance issues in multiplayer, but improving the performance and stability will be an ongoing focus ahead of the Early Access release.
Thanks for continuing to follow the development of Main Sequence, and I look forward to sharing more updates soon!
Cheers,
Kaiden
