Hey everyone,
We've got a big one for you today. This update brings back one of the most requested features from launch, adds voice-over for two new languages, and gives you a lot more freedom in how you play. Let's get into it.
The moment a lot of you have been waiting for: proximity voice chat is back in Staged.
Over the past weeks we've worked hard on optimizing our network code, and that work paid off in more ways than one. Not only should the overall online experience feel smoother and more stable now, it also gave us the technical headroom we needed to bring proximity voice chat back into the game. Being able to hear your team scream from across the stage as a prop goes flying is exactly the chaos Staged was built for, and we're excited to have it back where it belongs.
We've listened to your feedback, and we're happy to announce that Staged now includes voice-over in Japanese and Korean, on top of the existing languages.
So many of you from Japan and Korea have picked up Staged and been part of this community from early on, and we wanted the game to feel just as accessible and immersive for you as it does for everyone else. This is a big step toward that, and we're grateful for the patience while we got it done.
Another frequently requested feature: you can now choose to play any level right from the start, without unlocking it first.
When starting a new game, you'll now find this as an option alongside the difficulty selection. Prefer to unlock levels the traditional way? That's still there too, this is simply an additional option for anyone who wants to jump straight into a specific stage or story.
The burst pipe random event, one of the more chaotic moments in Staged, can now also appear in more levels. If you enjoyed the panic of a flooding stage before, you'll be running into it more often now.
As always, this update exists because of your feedback. Proximity voice chat, more languages, free level select, this is all stuff you asked for, and we're glad we could deliver it. Keep it coming, we're reading everything.
See you on stage. 🎭
