Our first Demo patch is here! ːsteamhappyː
We've spent the last few days fixing bugs, making some balance adjustments, and polishing a few things based on what we've seen since the Demo went live.
But most importantly, a huge thank you to everyone who has played and shared feedback with us on Discord! You've already helped us find bugs, identify things that weren't clear enough, and make Champion of Lore better.
And please, keep it coming! If something feels weird, confusing, broken, too hard, too easy, or you simply think it could be better, come tell us on Discord. We read everything, and your feedback genuinely helps us decide what to work on next.
Here's what's changed:
Increased the time available to escape the final section by 2 rounds after defeating the mini-boss.
Renamed several equipment items to make their purpose clearer and their naming more consistent.
Equipped items can no longer be manually unequipped. Equipping a new item in an occupied slot will replace and permanently destroy the previous one.
Updated the tutorial dialogue to better explain how equipped items work.
Fixed an issue where loading a save could incorrectly advance the turn and trigger start-of-turn effects again, sometimes causing players who had just died from a falling section to immediately die again after loading.
Fixed an issue where the floor could appear completely corrupted after reaching the second loop of Survival Mode, even when it wasn't.
Fixed the Knowledge Counter updating before the Knowledge gain animation had finished.
Fixed newly spawned loot chests appearing already open when an enemy was defeated on a previously looted hex.
Fixed Hualletauro being able to use its charge attack while Entangled.
Fixed several audio-related issues.
Rebalanced and remixed several sounds.
Added a new combat music loop for Huayra Tata during attack and ability animations.
Added a new sound effect for the Knowledge particles that sweep toward the player when burning a card or destroying an item.
This is only the first round of improvements to the Demo, and we're really happy to finally have all of you playing it outside of our little development bubble.
Thank you for playing Champion of Lore, thank you for helping us improve it, and we'll see you on Discord!
