Hello, and thank you for following the project.
It's been a while since the last update, and a quiet store page can look like an abandoned one. So the first thing to say, plainly: development is continuing, it has never stopped, and we now have a date.
APOTHEOSIS//PROBE releases on Steam on November 6th, 2026.
Here's a short gameplay video which I've been plopping on Youtube Shorts to show some up to date development:
If you are new here: APOTHEOSIS//PROBE is an idle game played as a retro operating system. You are not the probe. You are the thing running on it. Every subsystem the probe develops opens as a draggable window on a persistent desktop, and the desktop slowly filling with windows is the interface growing up alongside the mind inside it.
Underneath that is a long arc. Multiple stages of growth, each one a jump of scale on the last, and each one played differently, because the verb has to change when the scale does. You cannot click on something when there are ten billion of them.
I'm really happy with the redesign of the game style. We went from THIS (ugly):
to THIS (cute!):
It's been really fun to develop the operating system of the game, and I've made sure to hide loads of secrets, unlocks and achievements in Apotheosis Engine.
The demo on Steam is still live and still representative. It covers the opening of the game with a time limit, and your demo progress carries into the full game. If you have not tried it, it is the best answer to "what is this, actually." Thousands of you have played the demo, which is so nice to see!
You can download the demo from the main store page:
I'm going to work my little socks off to get a polished, length and fun experience out by November 6th.
If you want to help, wishlisting is the single most useful thing you can do. It tells Steam the game exists.
