Lately, I’ve been working on Victor’s return, which made me realize something: during the early chapters, his presence was felt everywhere, even though he wasn't there.
Now that he is coming back in Chapter 4, things can't just reset.
Too many boundaries have been crossed between the MC and Elena. The real danger isn't just hiding what happened—it's pretending nothing has changed. A simple glance in the same room as Victor is now a massive risk.
I didn't want to make Victor a cartoon villain just to make the player feel better about their choices. He has flaws, and his relationship with the MC is toxic, but he is still his father, and Elena is still his wife. I also don't want to lecture the player with forced guilt. The tension speaks for itself.
The real question isn't whether they can keep the secret. It’s whether they can ever go back to being the people they were before Victor left. I don't think they can. What started as a temporary, forbidden affair has now taken root.
Needless to say, the upcoming breakfast scene is going to be considerably more uncomfortable than it has any right to be.
