A game icon may be tiny, but we spent a surprising amount of time deciding what Hell Bailiff should look like at a glance.
We originally created two different concepts:
[Icon Concept 1]
[Icon Concept 2]
Each took the visual identity of the game in a slightly different direction.
Eventually, this is the little face you’ll see on Steam, in your library, and maybe on your desktop.
But we’re curious:
Which one would you have picked — 1 or 2? Let us know in the comments!
Beyond the icon, development on the Hell Bailiff demo continues.
The game map is now complete, and we’ve also finished several battle environments for the spirits and creatures you’ll encounter along the way.
Hell Bailiff is a Chinese underworld-inspired roguelike deckbuilder where you serve as a bailiff of the underworld, carrying out your duties and confronting restless spirits consumed by resentment.
We want the environment surrounding each encounter to tell part of that creature’s story before a single card is played.
Here are two early previews.
In life, he spent his days crafting paper effigies for the dead.
In death, he became one of his own creations.
Why is it called the Corpsekeeper Worm?
We’ll keep that one to ourselves for now!
This is only a small glimpse of what’s already taking shape in the demo.
We’ll be sharing more restless wraiths, battle environments, cards, and behind-the-scenes development as production continues.
Hell Bailiff is still under development.
And the underworld is still growing...

About Us
We’re a two-person indie game team.
In October 2024, we released our first game, Cat Guardians on Steam. Now, Hell Bailiff is our second.
We believe good card strategy games take time and care to get right.
Rather than chasing short-lived trends, we want to make games that players can spend hours with — experimenting with new strategies, taking on run after run, and always finding a reason to start one more.
To everyone following Hell Bailiff, thank you.
We hope you’ll stick with us for the journey ahead.
