Update 1.05 - Preserve Tables on Failure

Database Detective: Minor Crimes Division · published 25 Jul 2026, 18:35 UTC · build 24386788

Trying again should no longer drop the tables you created or reload the case.

This is also true with switching between cases, with one big caveat: this only affects cases that have been loaded after this update. This means that if you played the first case before this update and now are on the second case, your tables for the second case will be preserved but not the tables for the first case if you switch back to it. However, if you played the first case after this update, you should be able to switch to it without losing progress.

In other words, your current progress should not be affected but your progress before this update has not been saved. All cases loaded after this update should have their progress preserved.

This update is a pretty big change, so please let me know if there are any issues.

Update Notes:

Gameplay Changes

  • Retrying cases no longer erases created tables

    • NOTE: This only affects cases you have played after this update

      • Any case currently loaded will have their tables saved

      • Any cases loaded before this update will not have their tables saved.

  • For the 7th case (wiki level):

    • xCalibur32 now mentions selling passwords in his player profile

Misc Changes

  • Make game's executable icon consistent on all platforms

  • Batch inserts when loading tables

    • Hopefully prevents some crashes on Mac

Bug Fixes

  • Fix formatting in credit tables

  • For the 9th case:

    • Fix time column in *_price tables being a TEXT type instead of INT

Community12 Sep 2026Trading Cards and Point Shop Items!New Steam Trading Cards! You can now craft your very own badge on your steam profile for Database Detective: Minor Crimes Division using these new trading cards! I wanted these cards to have a very cohesive design, similar to trading card sets like Exodia the Forbidden One from Yugioh. Personally I feel like there should be more games on Steam embracing cohesive trading card designs! It's a lot…Game update28 Aug 2026Update 1.14.2Bug Fixes: · Fixed issue where the ending cutscene wasn't loadingGame update26 Aug 2026Demo Update 2.01The demo is now up to date with (most of) the updates from the base game! Also made sure that opening the demo when you have the full game does not delete your entire save file (but it does delete progress in the 4th case since that level shares the level number with the demo credits scene).
