The last update with the new playback engine in C was a large one. But it went out without much of a hitch. After it has been battle-tested for over a week by everyone, we are happy to report it seems to be working on all our users hardware!
This update is a minor one. While working on an upcoming larger update we've re-styled the Settings tab/app that shows up when selecting a visual, back, deck, or set, and clicking the gears icon. Just looks better this way.
It's a minor update, but in my view polishing styling, and striving for perfection, from back-end core algorithms, controller middle-ware, all the way to the pixel perfect placement of things in the UI are essential to a good user experience, and creating a quality application.
I once took a job for a startup, and when considering the offer I had from them, I revisited their site. I noticed small issues with the placement of things like their username field, and other things that looked off, even if just by a few pixels, but still very noticable imperfections to a discerning eye.
I wish I had listened to the slightly ill gut feeling that gave me. Because when I started the job their code-base turned out to be an absolute mess. No automated testing, and whole swathes of dead code mixed in with the still active code. Carelessness was not just limited to UI design.
As with restaurants, slips in care and attention in decor are often clear signals of bigger issues in the 'kitchen'.
Several bugs were fixed, and more small improvements made:
- New DLCs added to the free sample deck! (thanks for reporting Habbening)
- New DLCs added to the menu and preview decks
- Several small optimizations
If you reported (other) bugs, we're keeping a list and working through them! Please keep reports coming! We won't know if you don't tell us (best place to do so is in our Discord)
Feature requests & bug reports are welcome. Either here or on our Discord!
