Hello sock sorters! 🧦
A big update for the Sort Them Socks demo is out now. We’ve been busy tidying up the shop, so here’s everything that’s new:
🏔️ A Proper Mountain of Socks
• Every game now starts with the socks poured into big, cozy hills in the middle of the room, ready to be sorted.
• Socks finally lie like real cloth: no more pairs floating in the air or standing up stiff like boards.
• Socks on the floor look thicker and softer.
• Dropped pairs now flop over and lie flat instead of standing on their toes.
🖱️ Smoother Sorting
• You can now pick up and place pairs with the left mouse button (E still works too).
• Any legendary pair now fits in any slot on a legendary shelf.
• Placing a pair is smoother: no more shrinking and growing on its way to the slot.
• Picking a pair up off the floor no longer sends it flying to the ceiling first.
• After placing a pair you now have a moment to see whether it glowed green or red before the next slot lights up.
• When you inspect a pair, it now stays in front of the pairs in your hands.
• The shelf counter on the HUD now only counts pairs that are in the right place.
🎨 Looks & Feel
• Sock patterns now match their cabinets: no more stretched or oversized prints.
• Stripes on patterned socks are now straight.
• Pairs in your hands no longer flicker between bright and dark under the lamps.
• Less camera sway while walking.
• A warmer default colour look, and a slightly softer, less glaring room light.
• New framed pictures and little cabinets decorate the shop walls.
• Shelf dividers now match the colour or pattern of their cabinet.
• A new animated logo when the game starts.
🎵 Music
• A new cozy ambient soundtrack in the main menu and while you play.
• A new Music volume slider in Settings.
⚡ Performance
• Smoother movement and mouse look.
• New Game and Continue no longer freeze for a long time: there’s now a loading screen, and loading is much faster.
🌍 Languages
• Added Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Danish and Korean.
✨ Also
• A redesigned End of the Demo screen.
• A Co-op button has appeared in the main menu. It isn’t playable in the demo yet, but it’s coming!
