This update brings a brand new Combo Meter, a Cross Hotbar for controller players, an on-screen keyboard so you can chat without a keyboard, and a rebuilt Eye & Hair Color window!
The experimental combo counter has completed with a new ink and seal look. Land hits back to back and watch your combo climb!
Combo Ranks
Reach D at 10 hits, C at 25, B at 50, A at 100 and S at 200. A seal slams onto the meter each time you rank up.
Combo Timer
The brush stroke behind the number is your timer. You have 3 seconds to land your next hit before the combo ends.
Charging Chakra Keeps Your Combo
Charge chakra while it isn't full, or while a jutsu is on cooldown, and your combo timer stops. A chakra ring around the number fills up as your chakra does.
Explosive Tag at A and S Rank
From A rank, an explosive tag hangs from the seal and burns up as your timer runs out. Every hit gives it back its length, and when your combo ends, it explodes!
Move It Anywhere
Drag the Combo Meter wherever you like it. You can turn it off in Settings > Gameplay.
Controller players asked for a hotbar that works like Final Fantasy XIV's, so here it is! The Cross Hotbar replaces the D-Pad Hotkeys.
Hold RT and press Y/B/A/X for hotkeys 1-4, or hold LT for hotkeys 5-8
The D-Pad on its own uses hotkeys 9, 0, F1 and F2
Hold RT with the D-Pad for F3-F6, or LT for F7-F10
Hold a trigger and press LB/RB to turn your hotbar page. Pages only change F1-F10, so the face buttons keep their hotkeys on every page.
Your thumbs stay free: the left stick keeps aiming and moving while you cast
Button labels match your controller: Xbox, PlayStation or Nintendo
Two Layouts
Compact (the default) shows three diamonds and swaps in the D-Pad hotkeys of the trigger you're holding. Full shows all 20 hotkeys at once. Pick one in Settings > Controls > Controller.
Set Hotkeys With Your Controller
Choose Bind to Hotkeys on a jutsu or item, then press the button combo you want it on. B cancels. You can also take things off your hotkeys with the new Remove from Hotkeys option in the Jutsu and Inventory menus.
Your saved controls move over to the Cross Hotbar automatically. If you'd rather keep LT for something else, you can turn off the left trigger hotkeys.
You can now type with just your controller, mouse or touch screen!
The keyboard opens when you start typing without a physical keyboard plugged in, and closes when you're done
On a Steam Deck or in Big Picture mode, Steam's own keyboard opens instead
Number boxes, like amounts in the mailbox, get a number pad
Choose whether it opens automatically, always or never in Settings > Controls > Controller
Chat With Your Controller
Press Y on the Menu Wheel or Emote Wheel to open chat with the keyboard up. Start sends, B leaves, and the right stick switches chat channels.
New Hair Color Window
Rebuilt the Hair Dye window with a picker in the hair's real colours.
New Eye Color Window
Using an eye dye now shows your character's face turned towards you, with a color picker in the colours your eyes will actually be.
Super Unlock eye dyes have Iris, Pupil and Sclera tabs, and can dye both eyes or just one
Normal eye dyes color your irises and let you pick white or black pupils
The Cash Shop's eye previews use the same picker
The Eye Color and Hair Dye windows now work fully with the keyboard and controller
Keyboard Navigation Setting
You can now turn off keyboard navigation of windows in Settings > Interface. When it's off, the arrow keys, WASD, Enter, Space, Tab, Q/E, R and Page Up/Down stay with the game while a window is open. It's on by default, and Escape, dialogue and other full-screen prompts always respond to your keys.
