Gray Haven 5.0 Beta Update Notice

Major Housing Content Improvements and Bug Fixes

Hello, this is NINEHECTARE.

The Gray Haven 5.0 beta version will be available starting August 12.

In this beta, you can preview a variety of changes, including a major overhaul of the housing system, resident summoning, new production facilities, UI and control improvements, and major bug fixes.

This beta version is being released ahead of the full update to verify the stability and usability of the new features. You may encounter unexpected issues or unfinished elements during play, so please review the details below before participating.

■ Resident Summoning Added

You can now summon residents directly into your housing space and place them there.

Summoned residents can be placed both indoors and outdoors, allowing you to freely arrange them wherever you like and decorate your town and home.

However, additional interactions with summoned residents are still under development. In this beta, only the resident summoning and placement features are available. The related interactions that are still unfinished will not be included in the full 5.0 release.

■ Furniture Placement Improvements

Housing convenience has been greatly improved!

Previously, when placing furniture or facilities, grass and bushes on the ground could overlap with the 3D models, making it difficult to see the shape and position of the placed objects.

To improve this, previews are now provided for each element, and when furniture or facilities are placed, nearby grass and bushes will be removed automatically.

This reduces cases where placed objects are obscured by the surrounding environment, making it much easier to check their placement.

■ Housing Upgrade System Reworked

The way you change your house's appearance has been reworked.

Previously, you had to give APIS the required materials every time you wanted to change your house.
Now, the system has been changed to an unlock format similar to a collection.

Once you purchase and unlock a house appearance, you can ask APIS to switch to that appearance at any time without paying additional materials.

Walls and floors can now also be changed separately, giving you much more freedom to customize your house.

■ New Production Facilities: Logging Camp, Quarry, Apiary, and More

New production facilities have been added to help you secure the resources your town needs more reliably.

These new production facilities allow you to obtain resources related to wood, stone, and food on a regular basis.

  • Logging Camp: Produces wood

  • Quarry: Produces stone

  • Apiary: Produces food-related resources

Using production facilities can help reduce some of the burden of the increasing construction and item-crafting material costs later in the game.

However, to prevent the Apiary from completely replacing existing ways of obtaining food, only one can be unlocked in your town.

■ UI and Control Improvements

Based on feedback from our players, we've improved UI accessibility and keyboard controls.

Improved WASD Inventory Controls

We fixed an issue where the selection position could move unnaturally when navigating inventory items with WASD.

You can now navigate the inventory more naturally with the keyboard.

Quick Slot Improvements

We've reactivated the Quick Slot feature, which had gone unused for some time.

You can now assign items to Quick Slots or swap the positions of already assigned items while the inventory is open.

Unsellable Item Indicator

It was difficult to tell at a glance which items could be sold in shops.

Unsellable items will now display a disabled UI state, making it easy to see whether an item can be sold.

■ Other Fixes

We also fixed the following issues and improved related features.

  • Fixed an animation issue where Dayna faced the wrong direction during interactions

  • Improved chair interaction code

  • Improved brazier interaction code

  • Improved placement and behavior stability for some housing objects

■ About the Beta Version

This 5.0 beta is being released to verify the stability of newly added features and changed systems before the full update.

As this is a beta version, there may still be undiscovered bugs or control-related inconveniences.

If you encounter any of the following issues while playing, please report them through the Steam Community.

  • Issues that prevent game progression

  • Save or load issues

  • Furniture or facility placement errors

  • Resident summoning or placement errors

  • UI controls becoming unusable

  • Item display or inventory errors

  • Any other unintended behavior

We'll review your reports, fix the issues, and apply the changes to the full 5.0 update.

As mentioned above, additional interactions linked to resident summoning are still unfinished and will not be included in the full 5.0 release.

Use the newly reworked housing system and production facilities to create your own town, and feel free to share your thoughts as you play.

We'll use your feedback to further improve the quality of the full release.

Thank you sincerely, as always, for supporting Gray Haven.
