This update remakes combat effects, adds multi-slot saves, adjusts damage calculation and fixes a number of issues.
Combat Effects and Hit Feedback
Combat effects have been fully remade: basic attacks use a pixel style, while critical hits and ultimates use high-definition effects. Enemy effects are shorter.
Hits now have a brief pause, a white flash on the target and a slight camera nudge for stronger impact.
Melee attackers dash up to the target, mid-range weapons dash halfway, and ranged attacks fire in place.
Every player ability now has its own effect, with ultimates designed individually. Minor abilities have short effects that do not shake the camera.
Card Summoner card plays now show the card's artwork, and drawing cards has a simpler animation.
Summons now have entrance effects, and fusion summons have their own entrances.
Buffs and debuffs use new animations, and more statuses have matching artwork.
Saves
Single-player and party saves are now separate, each with one automatic slot and three manual slots.
Select Save on the main menu loads single-player saves, the host uses Load Game in the lobby for party saves, and Manual Save in the Main God Space lets you choose a slot.
Overwriting a manual save asks for confirmation. A damaged save is restored from the backup in the same slot.
Saves from older versions can be loaded from Older Saves.
Fixed several save and load errors and false save-failure messages. Events and preparation actions in a world now update the automatic save promptly.
Quitting a single-player run no longer reports a multiplayer disconnection.
Damage Calculation
Damage now has four parts: base damage, critical hits, regular damage bonuses and final damage bonuses. Bonuses of the same type are added together before being multiplied, and final damage bonuses apply after defense.
Fixed some bonuses being counted twice. Damage previews follow the same rules.
Fixes and Adjustments
Fixed the multiplayer session ending when joining a teammate's battle midway in Haunted Cinema.
Fixed Loss of Control showing "Run Failed" after a nuclear-ending victory.
Celestial Silkworm Vest now grants immunity to Corrosion.
In City of the Dead, "Allow him to stay" for the infected survivor now grants 4 Reward Points per player.
Torment for Men and Women now uses the head slot.
Equipment ability energy cost reductions now also apply to cards.
When Steam fails to start, the game now explains what to do.
Mods
Damage from mod ability scripts is now included in damage previews.
Mods now go in the Mods folder next to the game executable by default. Existing mods are copied there automatically on first launch.
