Hey everyone! The early access v0.4 (September 27, 2026) patch is live. I'll be tweaking balance and visuals right up until 1.0, but for this update, I've ironed out a lot of under-the-hood wrinkles.
Here are the highlights:
Performance & Co-op: The game is much smoother now. I've fixed the loading screen stutters, shader issues, and item jittering in co-op. If the host disconnects, the game no longer locks up or gets stuck on a black screen; you are now cleanly returned to the main menu.
Kitchen & Orders: Pots are now much more physically accurate (water spills if tilted, and you can't add ingredients if it's empty). Orders are pulled directly from actual recipes, and you can track urgent orders via color-coded UI in the top left. Even if the timer runs out, there is a short grace period to deliver the food—though it will make the mascot a bit angry.
Physics Fixes: Thrown items clipping through thin walls or falling off the map are a thing of the past; any dropped item will now return to its last safe position. I also hooked up the missing meat models.
Tutorial & UI: I stripped unnecessary steps out of the tutorial to focus entirely on the core kitchen loop. The UI is cleaner, more intuitive, and fully supported in 12 languages. The maps also look a bit brighter and fresher now thanks to Unity 6 lighting.
Mechanics & Atmosphere: Weird quirks with vent transitions, the dance camera, and falling animations have been smoothed out. Spears now actually stick to their targets when thrown! I've also added a bunch of new sounds and VFX to interactions. Finally, the aggressive mascot's eyes are much creepier now, glowing with a pulsing effect.
