Brimir Update — The Seeped Pool · First Water Weapons · A 7th Telegraph Axis (v1597)

A new Hidden Reach opens on Floor 7. And this game gets its first Water-element weapons —
Frost had 2, Flame 2, Poison 4, Lightning 1, Holy 3. Water had none.

🌊 The Seeped Pool — Floor 7 Hidden Reach

Two doors lead to the same place: the Ice Tomb of the Icerock and the Megalith Ruins of the Dark Continent.
One floor before the two branches meet on Floor 8, they were already meeting down below.

  • The way in is the "Wet Trace". Every won battle in those two regions may leave one. You must walk both branches — the two regions can't be reached in a single expedition, so the repeated trips are the entry fee. Traces carry across expeditions, and you can check them in the pickup popup and the "Soul Stones" tab of your inventory.
  • This field has a pulse. Relaxation and contraction alternate. During contraction, healing is halved and Constriction builds. You vent it at a Runnel — and a Runnel only opens during relaxation, and never returns once used on that visit.
  • Each room shortens the relaxation. In the first room you have twice the time you need to reach a Runnel and get back. In the last room a single relaxation isn't enough to cross the room at all. That's where the rule inverts — hold the Runnel and drag the boss to you, or carry the Constriction and push through.
  • Final boss: Gelmir of the Ichor — three phases. His kit is split between relaxation and contraction, so the same boss shows two faces in turn. Later phases grow both faces at once.
  • Recommended party power: 107,780 — the highest in the game. That's double the Blood Pilgrimage (52,503) on the same floor, so the step up is steep.

💧 Grade-4 Reforging — the "Seeped Wish"

  • Gelmir drops it guaranteed. The altar stands in the boss room itself.
  • Only Grade 4 runes can be offered. We split both the grade band and the consumable from the Sanctuary of Balance (Grades 5–9, Forbidden Wish) — without that split, this altar would strictly outclass it and there'd be no reason to visit Floor 4.
  • Boss-exclusive runes are excluded from the reroll pool. This is acceleration, not a bypass — a wish earned here can be spent chasing the ordinary runes of this same Reach.

🗡️ Numeros — 2 Water Weapons + the 8-piece "Ripple / Tide" Robe Set

  • Spindrift Axe and Greatsword of Inundation — the game's first Water weapons. Each attack applies 2 Water stacks. They come as a pair because you need two suppliers before Water tier 3 actually opens.
  • Water shreds enemy physical defence. So when a front-line weapon lays Water down, the whole party's physical damage rises with it. It isn't an element you use alone — it's one you apply for the party.
  • "Ripple" (entry) → "Tide" (graduate) robes — the Water axis had nothing you could actually wear until now, only seals and these weapons. The Robe of the Tide lays Water stacks on hit, so a caster becomes the supplier who feeds the front line's Water weapons.
  • Set bonus: 2 pieces Spirit Power +8 / 4 pieces Spirit Power +12 and Water Affinity +6.

👁️ The Averted Eye finally drops

  • It is the only source of Stealth in the entire equipment list — and nothing dropped it. Its set siblings (Oracle's Scent, Skyward Sight, Holy Intuition) were all on the Sky Oracle; only this one was missing. Volgar of the Oracle now drops it.

🔮 Enemy Telegraphs — a 7th axis: "Burn it down"

  • White had stopped meaning "none of the above" and started meaning "everything else". Eight kinds sat inside it, and the two largest gave opposite instructions — a defensive buff says blocking won't help, burn it down, while a counter stance says don't hit me. Seeing white and swinging into a counter stance cost you on the spot.
  • Defensive-buff patterns now split off into their own axis. We did not move them to green ("interrupt") because they are CC-immune and cannot be interrupted — moving them would make "interrupt" a lie.
  • Corrected the magenta marking on falling attacks. "Falling attacks leave a hazard on the ground" was only true of boss rockfalls; the 25 ordinary falling attacks that share the same name leave nothing behind. Skeleton arrow rain, ember rain and lightning nets were telling you the floor had become dangerous when it hadn't. Magenta now means it actually leaves a field.

🛡️ Overhead display — immunities are icons now

  • " Stun · Hard CC · Stagger" used to be a line of text. It's now shown as icon chips.
  • An immunity is hidden while that status is actually applied. Showing "stagger immune" on a staggered enemy makes the screen contradict itself. Each bucket locks separately.
  • Overhead elements now stack vertically on a single plate. Telegraphs, super armour, interrupt chains and the health bar no longer cover each other.
  • Labels sit over the enemy's body. Banners, spears and horns inflate a sprite's bounds, which pushed overhead UI off the actual body. That's corrected.

⚙️ Settings — a new "Hit Flash" option

  • Three steps: Off / Weak / Default. Added from reports that the white flash on hit was blinding in dark regions.
  • It's a separate axis from screen shake and damage numbers, so turning those off never affected it.

🔧 Fixes

  • We found one cause behind "it stutters sometimes". The developer screenshot key (P) shipped in player builds. Pressing it ran a screen capture, resize and PNG encode on the game thread, freezing for hundreds of milliseconds. P isn't in the key settings, so anyone who hit it had no way to know why. Release builds no longer accept the input at all.
  • The Floor 7 reforging altar was speaking Floor 4's names. You'd bring a Seeped Wish and the window would say "Forbidden Wish", with the selection screen using Floor 4's wording too. The consumable and grade band had already been split — only the on-screen text hadn't followed.
  • The Seeped Wish was displaying as a bandage. It now has its own icon.
  • The treasure in the Seeped Pool stood out badly. A bright brown-and-gold wooden chest on damp grey-brown ground. It was also a gathering node wearing a chest's art, which is fixed too.
  • Enemies and objects hugged the edge of each room. They've been pulled inward — some Runnels in particular sat so close to the wall that reaching them was awkward.

The Seeped Pool was built as a place only those who walked both branches can reach. That's why there's one way in, and why that way is fairly long — expect somewhere around 40 battles to cover both sides. If it feels too far, tell us; the requirement is adjustable.
Gelmir currently carries the highest recommended power in the game. Within Floor 7 it isn't one step up but a doubling, so we'll be watching your reactions before touching it.
