Bots to Mars has reached v1.0.0! This update makes every colony’s transformation more visible, strategic, and rewarding while preserving existing saves and the core idle-clicker progression.

Terraforming that grows with your colony

  • Planet surfaces now develop continuously as you build, with connected lakes and oceans that expand through five visual stages.
  • Two independently moving cloud layers form as atmosphere and water production increase.
  • Each world has deterministic, unique terrain rather than reusing the same planet textures.
  • Mars, Luna, Mercury, Venus, Ceres, Europa, Ganymede, Callisto, Titan, Enceladus, Triton, and procedural worlds develop distinct geography and water coverage.

New progression and strategy

  • Terraforming breakthroughs occur at 10%, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%.
  • Each first-time breakthrough grants a permanent +2% production bonus.
  • Every built-in world now has its own live terraforming challenge, shown in the HUD.
  • Procedural worlds receive deterministic challenge types based on their identity.
  • New production chains connect Ocean Seeders to Pressure Greenhouses, Pressure Greenhouses to Domed Cities, and Orbital Ring Stations to the entire colony.

Interface and animation improvements

  • Added stepped 16-bit movement and construction feedback while preserving the original pixel-art style.
  • Producer cards no longer resize or jump when a purchase becomes affordable.
  • Affordability progress, time-to-purchase information, keyboard navigation, and focus visibility are clearer.

Steam Cloud and save safety

  • Local missions upload immediately when Steam Cloud is empty.
  • Failed cloud writes remain pending and retry during later saves and clean game exit.
  • Cloud downloads now accept multiple Steamworks response formats for more reliable recovery on another PC.
  • Local atomic saves and backups remain active alongside Steam Cloud.
  • Existing saves remain compatible with v1.0.0.

Thank you for playing and helping Bots to Mars grow. Keep funding the mission, build stranger worlds, and turn the whole system green.
