Faeland Joins the ID@Xbox Developer Acceleration Program!

Hi everyone!

It has been a while since our last development update, so we wanted to check in, say hello, let you know that we are here and hard at work on Faeland, and share our latest news with you!

We have something especially exciting to share: Talegames and Faeland are officially part of the ID@Xbox Developer Acceleration Program!

The program supports a wide range of independent creators from around the world as they work to bring their original games to Xbox, providing participating teams with resources, personalized guidance, and opportunities along the way. Through DAP, we can connect more closely with the Xbox team and receive firsthand insight throughout the process of releasing and supporting a game on the platform, including areas such as marketing and certification.

This is a huge milestone for our small team. After years of building Faeland and bringing this adventure step by step toward its full release, having Microsoft recognize and support the game through this program means a great deal to us. We are very proud of what this represents for our team, for Faeland, and ultimately for all of you. We could not be happier to share this milestone with you.

This opportunity also arrives at an especially meaningful moment, as so many parts of Faeland are now being finalized and brought together for v1.0. Having that closer connection with Xbox gives us valuable support for the road ahead and even more energy as we continue pushing toward the finish line.

The Road to v1.0

We also know the question everyone most wants answered: when is v1.0 coming?

The short answer is that we are not ready to announce a new release date today.

Faeland is closer to completion than it has ever been. At this point, the remaining pieces naturally converge on a single goal: the full v1.0 release. Console porting remains a central and demanding part of that work, alongside the final rounds of testing and polish across the full adventure.

There is a familiar joke among developers that the first 90% of a project takes 90% of the time, and the final 10% takes the other 90%. We have certainly felt that final stretch.

Much of that comes from the work being broad, detailed, and deeply interconnected. Some tasks are specific to consoles, while others apply across the game on PC and consoles alike. A change in one area can require testing and adjustments throughout many others, and every planned platform needs the full adventure tested from beginning to end. Each of those pieces matters to the finished experience.

Ultimately, we want to feel confident in the complete experience and in how it runs across every planned platform before we announce a date. We are not at that point just yet, but once we are, we will be able to confirm exactly when v1.0 will arrive.

This September 9 will also mark one year since the date we originally announced for Chapter 6 and v1.0. We know this has been a very long wait, and we are looking forward to the day when all of you can experience v1.0 for yourselves. As we work toward that day, we can say with confidence that the version we are preparing could not have existed in the same form last September. This additional time has allowed us to further polish existing parts of Faeland, fully realize some long-standing ideas, and even add a few new ones along the way.

All of that work is now in the game, and we hope the difference will be clear when you finally have it in your hands.

We are equally aware that v0.5.6 has remained the public Early Access build for even longer. That update addressed several of the biggest issues at the time, but it is far from perfect, and Faeland has continued to evolve considerably behind the scenes.

v1.0 brings together Chapter 6, new content and features, and the revisions, fixes, balancing, performance work, and polish we have been applying across the entire game. We will share more of the major changes in a dedicated development log ahead of release, while saving a few surprises for the game itself.

We want current players to experience all of those improvements, and we want new players to discover Faeland with all of this work in place. That gives us even more urgency to reach the finish line, and right now, our full development focus is on getting there.

Thank You

To everyone who continues to play Faeland, share feedback, recommend the game, or simply follow its development, thank you. And to all the new players joining us during Early Access, welcome. Seeing this community grow around Faeland means more to us than we can say.

We remain incredibly excited by how far the game has come. We are putting everything we have into making v1.0 the best and most complete version of Faeland it can be.

As we bring these final pieces together, thank you for being here and for being part of this journey.

The Talegames Team
