This weekās update gives your fishing rigs a visual and physics-based overhaul!
Baits now dangle from your rig on a physics-based line while held in your puppetās hand. This makes it much easier (and better looking) to see exactly which bait you have equipped before casting.
š„ Enchanted Sparky also has new visual effects while equipped, making it clear when its monster-repelling protection is active.
Weāve also cleaned up several Rod, Reel, and Bait behaviors:
Bait is no longer visible on fish after theyāve been hooked in the water.
Holding a fish now automatically unequips your fishing rod.
Equipped tackle behaves more consistently when your puppet dies.
If your Rod, reel, and bait are visible in your hands when you die, they will now be dropped into the world.
These changes are intended to make the Tackle Loss mechanic much more obvious: if you can see your fishing pole out, it can be lost on death.
Weāre now working on two major features that will give you and your crew more choices during every trip to the swamp:
A second Fish Monger is coming to the Dock with an entirely new set of Bounties!
Each Fish Monger will offer a different Quota reward, and youāll be able to see both rewards ahead of time. You and your buddies can then decide which you want to pursue together.
Turn unwanted tackle into cash... or shop for somebody elseās castoffs!
The Pawn Shopās inventory will be populated by items sold there during your current session. Tackle permanently lost during the session will also make its way onto the shelves, giving your crew a chance to buy it back.
Weāre excited to see how these features add more strategy, choice, and player-driven stories to every Dock!
As always, thank yāall for your continued support and feedback! If youāve been enjoying Voodoo Fishinā, please consider leaving us a Steam review. Every review makes a huge difference for our small team and helps more puppet anglers discover the game.
Tight lines! š£
