SILENT BREATH — FULL RELEASE

Hello everyone,

First of all, I want to apologize for how long the full release has taken.

Some health issues in my family forced me to step away from development for a while. Thankfully, everything is okay now, and I'm finally back.

SILENT BREATH has been a very special project for me. I've developed the game entirely on my own, and throughout this journey, I've not only grown as a developer, but also met so many incredible people along the way.

I'm incredibly grateful to everyone who supported the game — everyone who bought it, played it, shared it with friends, streamed it, or made videos about it.

I watch almost every video you upload. Seeing you get lost in the forest, panic, scream, laugh, and genuinely enjoy the experience has made me both incredibly proud and happy. Knowing that something I created alone has given people those moments is difficult to put into words.

The full release was originally planned for last year. However, after receiving so many requests from the community, I decided to develop the MULTIPLAYER mode as a gift to all SILENT BREATH owners. It ended up taking much more time than I initially expected, but it also pushed me far beyond my previous limits and taught me countless things that will allow me to create even better games in the future.

The story of SILENT BREATH has actually been complete in my head since the very beginning. I always knew where everything was leading — I just couldn't bring myself to finally put all the pieces together.

There are some movies and TV shows that we love, wait excitedly for, and yet somehow don't want to end. Sometimes, the journey toward the ending becomes more meaningful than the ending itself.

SILENT BREATH became something like that for me.

But I think it's finally time to share the end of this story with you.

As you know, this journey began with SINGLEPLAYER, and its story will end there as well.If this is your first time playing SILENT BREATH, you should ABSOLUTELY experience it in SINGLEPLAYER first. Multiplayer is a game mode that was added later and is not the main experience!

Your feedback after the full release will be incredibly important to me. SILENT BREATH is very special to me, and development will continue after 1.0.

Once again, thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey.

I truly hope you've enjoyed it as much as I have — and that, even if only for a moment, SILENT BREATH managed to make you feel what it's really like to be lost and alone in that forest.

Thank you for being here. ❤️

VERSION 1.0 — FULL RELEASE UPDATE

NEW CONTENT & STORY

  • The True Ending has been added.
To reach the final ending, you'll need to find and listen to the recordings scattered throughout the forest and uncover the full story behind SILENT BREATH.

  • New Tape Recorders have been placed throughout the map. These recordings reveal the story behind the forest and the events that led you here.

  • 5 new scares have been added.

  • A new deadly threat has been added.
It doesn't seem to like the light very much.

  • 2 new locations have been added to the forest.

  • 2 new Steam Achievements have been added.

NAVIGATION & GAMEPLAY

  • Added a new Active Compass Assistance System.
The compass can now help you locate undiscovered locations within approximately 45 meters. The goal is to preserve the feeling of being lost while reducing situations where players become completely disoriented.

Of course, you probably shouldn't rely on it when the Sisters are nearby.

  • The name of your current location is now displayed alongside the coordinate/compass interface, making it easier to understand where you are even in complete darkness.

  • Coordinate text has been redesigned to be easier to read.

  • Coordinates between the Singleplayer and Multiplayer maps have been aligned and now match correctly.

  • Missing-person spawn locations have been reworked to create more logical and balanced placements throughout the forest.

  • Deadly threat balancing has been adjusted.

  • Flashlight range has been increased.

  • Fixed an issue that could cause the flashlight to remain dimmed under certain circumstances.

IMMERSION & CAMERA

  • Added new screen effects that reflect the player's stress level, particularly during Behind Scares.

  • Added a new Dynamic Camera Tilt system.
The goal is to enhance the found-footage feeling without creating excessive motion or discomfort.

  • The VHS screen effect has been completely redesigned.

  • The Fisheye effect has been redesigned.

  • Several new full-screen visual effects have been added, while existing effects have been reworked and improved.

  • Fixed several issues with the AutoDOF (Automatic Depth of Field) system.

  • Added a new Hide HUD option under Settings → Accessibility for players who want a more immersive experience.

VISUALS, LIGHTING & PERFORMANCE

  • The game's overall lighting system has been extensively reworked.

  • Fixed lighting issues introduced during Unreal Engine upgrades, particularly artifacts affecting characters and objects viewed at close range.

  • Textures throughout the entire game have been reviewed and optimized.

  • Several Lumen settings and systems have been reworked to improve performance.

  • Additional experimental optimization systems have been implemented.

  • Several expensive fog and environmental effects have been replaced with visually improved, better-performing alternatives.

  • Fixed an issue where certain graphics settings did not correctly affect the game on some systems.

  • Fixed an issue that caused shadows to appear excessively low-resolution on lower graphics settings.

  • Fixed incorrect rendering on several smoke and fire effects.

  • Fixed an issue where weather effects such as rain and snow would not appear correctly on certain systems.

WEATHER

  • Severe weather was originally designed to increase the tension as the night progressed and previously began every night at 2:00 AM.

  • Severe weather will now begin at 4:00 AM, giving players more time before conditions deteriorate.

  • Fixed an issue where the weather sometimes failed to clear correctly toward the end of a run.

AUDIO

  • Fixed several audio-related bugs.

  • Reworked and improved sound effects for several active scares.

MULTIPLAYER

  • Maximum Multiplayer player count has been increased to 5.

  • Fixed an issue where Mic Gain did not work correctly in Multiplayer.

  • Fixed an issue where nighttime would not become completely dark for some Multiplayer players.

  • Fixed an issue where the Multiplayer emote menu, opened with Q by default, would fail to render for some players.

FIXES & IMPROVEMENTS

  • Fixed an issue where the camera would sometimes fail to fall correctly after a microphone-triggered death.

  • Fixed a level-streaming issue in the basic ending where the house could appear only after the player had already been teleported to the area.

  • Fixed an issue reported by some players where certain scares could spawn in HIKER FOOTAGE mode, even though scares are not intended to spawn in this mode.

  • Fixed an issue where some animals charging toward the player would occasionally move without playing their animations.

  • Numerous additional bug fixes, adjustments, and small improvements have been made throughout the game.

This is SILENT BREATH 1.0.

The story is finally complete.

Find the recordings.

Learn the truth.

And find out why you were really sent into the forest.
