Controllers were being handed to the game as keyboard presses instead of as a controller, which is why buttons did the wrong thing — B opening menu options rather than backing out of them. That was a setting on our side: the game was shipping with Steam's keyboard-and-mouse template as its default controller configuration, so the game never saw a gamepad at all.
It now ships with the gamepad template. Xbox, PlayStation, Switch and generic pads all reach the game as controllers, on desktop and on Steam Deck.No update to download. If you set a controller layout for Toy Keeper yourself while it was broken, reset it: Toy Keeper → Controller → reset to the default.
