A new map you pick like any other — and it replaces the shop in every mode. Exact placement, Mass placement, Free mode and Endless are all played here if you choose it.Three circular floors around an open atrium, under a planetarium dome, with escalators between them. Eighteen departments, each with its own signs and its own aisle badges on the floor.
185 new toys, in four colours each: rockets, saucers, astronauts, planets, moons, aliens, UFOs, rovers, probes, stations, ray guns, jetpacks, meteors, comets, crystals, telescopes, moon bases, space pets, space dinos and more. Nothing recoloured from the toy shop.The shelves are named for what they sell — Probes, Crew, Rovers, Moon cars, Orbit rings — and the whole shop is signed that way.
The station has its own big set pieces to build: a particle accelerator, a training centrifuge, a manipulator arm, a crystal garden, an orbital elevator and a magnetic dock.
The prize machine sells a different set in the space store:
Gravity jump — a slow, drifting arc that reaches the floor above.
Levitation — the toys of the family you are holding lift off the floor.
Radar — one sweep lights up every toy of your family, wherever it lies.
Teleport — with a toy in hand, jump straight to that family's shelf.
Gravity placement — shelve the toy in your hands from a distance, further with every tier.
Drone — the station's helper. It flies.
Satellite and Rocket — the two legendaries. The satellite parks your overflow in orbit around you; the rocket empties your hands onto the right shelves at once.
In the space store everybody is in a suit — you, the other players, and the toddler.
A mode with no last floor, in either shop.
One floor at a time, stocked at random from every toy in the game. Finish it and the floor above opens, stocked with a different set.
The stairs up stay shut until your floor is done.
T takes you back to the floor you are stocking, and so does D-pad Up. Fall down the well and it puts you back.
The prize machine and the book come up the tower with you.
The HUD counts your run: floor number, and everything you have shelved so far.
Endless in the space store:
A new page in the book, open beside the menu.
Pick the board with the three arrows: global or this week, which shop, toys placed or floors finished.
Weekly boards start fresh every week.
On Steam they are the real world boards, with the name of each player on their row.
In Mass placement, right click while the green preview is up and the display turns: facing out, side-on, in rows, or stacked in two layers. Which ones a toy can take depends on its shape. The run remembers it, and so do your co-op guests.
Exact placement and Free mode come in four sizes: 2,694 toys, 5,214, 10,254 and 20,334. Each size is its own save.
Play → map → mode. Each mode offers New game or Continue, and Continue tells you how big that save is.
Free mode gets a second kit: the station's own shelving, props and stickers, instead of the toy shop's wooden crates and bunting.
Shutters. Empty hands on a gondola and press E to roll it down. A gondola with toys on it stays open.
Shelf colour. A gondola takes the colour of what you stock on it.
The toddler comes to Mass placement — and never takes the last toy of a display.
Crates. Stock straight from the crate in your hands; the toys fly out onto the shelf.
Twenty carry slots with the extra-slot perk, in every mode.
The prize machine is rebuilt, with a crank that actually turns and a capsule that rides the chute.
The big stores run about twice as fast, distant toys use a simpler model, and a large store no longer pours out of the ceiling when you walk in — it is already on the shelves.
Completion at every size in both modes in the space store, one per space toy family, one per space perk, and one for Endless.
Gaps in the middle of a display are filled properly again — robots no longer give up and drop the toy on the floor.
Helpers can find their way around a tower.
No more extra-slot offers once you already have all twenty.
Multiplayer requires everyone to be on 0.5: the protocol has changed.
