We have made the Valor Mortis Demo available again! Sharpen your blades and ready your muskets for another offensive. In the next weeks, we are bringing Valor Mortis to COREBLAZER, ChinaJoy and we are joining the Steam event, From Poland with Love. It's really exciting that we get to meet players around the world with our game. Our One More Level dev team will be at several events as we approach launch on October 13.
We also wanted to share concept art from our development process. We share behind the scenes looks at the game on a regular basis in our Discord server, so you can join if you want to see more! The first is concept art of Sergeant Gaspard “Cannonhand” Dubois. You can see how he will try to kill you in The Crimson Plague Trailer.
That trailer also revealed corrupted villagers. They wield everyday items like tools, torches and farm equipment while attacking in unpredictable, almost feral ways. You can fight against them in Chapter 7 of the Demo.
The Rapier is an exciting new weapon that you can also use in Chapter 7 of the Demo. Unlike the Sabre, its only form of defense is through perfectly timed parries. However, it allows you to hit enemy weakpoints without a firearm. This results in a more high-risk, high-reward playstyle.
Finally, this is concept art of several items you can find scattered throughout the game world. While most players will click past them without much thought, each of these were finely drawn and crafted to fit the Napoleonic setting by artists on our team.
