A New Chapter for Aurora Studio: Railway Depot

Dear Supporter,Over the past several years, Aurora Studio has grown through the support of players, creators, communities, and everyone who has followed our work.

One of the most important milestones in our journey was the release of OMSI 2: Project Numazu.

Bringing that project to release was only possible because so many people believed in what we were building, shared our work, played the game, gave us feedback, and supported us along the way.

We are sincerely grateful for that support.

The development and publishing journey around Project Numazu also taught us many lessons about how we want Aurora Studio to move forward as an independent studio.

Following the lessons and challenges we experienced through our recent publishing journey, we decided that our next major project should be built around a direction that gives Aurora Studio greater creative and operational independence.

That project is:

Railway Depot: Operations & Empire

Railway Depot is a new railway operations and management simulation focused on what happens behind the trains.

Instead of only driving trains, players will manage the systems that keep a railway running: depot operations, inspections, rolling stock readiness, dispatching, staff, routes, facilities, and the day-to-day decisions behind railway operations.

Transportation simulation has always been an important part of Aurora Studio’s identity.

With Railway Depot, we want to take that experience in a new direction and build something deeper, more systemic, and more independent.

The project is currently in Pre-Alpha development, and many parts of the game will continue to evolve.

We plan to share development updates, screenshots, gameplay systems, experiments, and behind-the-scenes progress as development continues.
