First of all, thank you to everyone who has taken part in the Playtest.

Over the past few weeks, players have tested the game on different devices, resolutions, monitor layouts, and network conditions. Your reports, screenshots, logs, and detailed reproduction steps helped us discover many issues that could only appear during real-world play.

Many of these problems would have been extremely difficult to locate and fix without players personally encountering them, testing them repeatedly, and sharing what they found. Thanks to your continued participation, we have been able to keep improving Lucky Dog Rise, making it more stable, complete, and closer to the experience we want to create.

Here are the main changes included in the Lucky Dog Rise 0.4.11 Playtest update.

A More Natural Desktop Companion Experience

  • Added desktop companion size settings with several display scale options.

  • The dog, counter, notification bubbles, and reveal animations now scale together for a more consistent look.

  • The dog and system panel can choose a more suitable position based on the available screen space, reducing overlap and partially hidden elements.

  • Improved taskbar snapping, window dragging, and behavior when other applications are running in fullscreen.

  • Fixed cases where the dog could move to an incorrect position after changing the taskbar or window size.

  • Improved the appearance of text, backgrounds, and loading animations at larger scales.

Improved System Panel Interaction

  • Buttons and tabs now correctly show hover highlights and tooltips.

  • Clicking buttons, tabs, or inventory items inside the system panel no longer closes the panel by mistake.

  • Clicking the empty area around the panel or outside the game correctly closes the panel.

  • Improved the panel position near screen edges, making the close button and important controls easier to find.

Poker Gameplay and Information Display

  • Added hand-type display to make the result of each hand easier to understand.

  • Added a tutorial to help new players learn the basic controls.

  • Improved the layout and information display in Poker mode.

  • Improved the display of chips, all-time records, player names, and desktop activity statistics.

  • The dog now responds more naturally to typing, clicking, and other desktop activity.

Inventory and Outfit Collection

  • Inventory items now display quantities, New markers, and equipped status more clearly.

  • Duplicate items are automatically grouped together for easier inventory management.

  • Added outfit presets, allowing you to quickly switch between different looks.

  • Outfit presets can be synchronized with your account and used on another computer.

  • Updated several dog appearances, item icons, and outfit assets for a more consistent visual style.

Blind Boxes and Reward Experience

  • Improved blind-box reward order, waiting times, and claiming flow.

  • Made the transition between reward preparation, presentation, and claiming more reliable.

  • Rewards that have already been earned are now easier to recover after an interruption, network delay, or temporary Steam disconnect.

  • Improved the handling of duplicate rewards, recovered items, and delayed rewards.

  • Different blind boxes now have more independent reward pools and more consistent results.

  • Improved recovery after an interrupted reveal animation, reducing the chance of losing reward progress.

Accounts and Synchronization

  • Saves, outfits, and reward progress are now fully separated between different Steam accounts.

  • Fixed cases where one account could incorrectly load save or inventory data from another account.

  • Improved Steam Cloud synchronization for consumables and outfit presets.

  • Improved automatic recovery after a Steam connection is interrupted.

  • Improved online reward claiming to reduce duplicate claims, repeated prompts, and prolonged loading.

Stability and Polish

  • Fixed cases where the system panel could close unexpectedly.

  • Fixed incorrect messages caused by delayed reward synchronization.

  • Fixed cases where online rewards could be submitted more than once.

  • Improved recovery from old saves, damaged saves, and unexpected exits.

  • Improved startup flow, error handling, and diagnostic information.

  • Retired content will no longer appear in new rewards or statistics.

Playtest Notes

This is a test build. We especially welcome feedback on the following areas:

  • Desktop companion size and positioning

  • System panel and inventory interaction

  • Poker gameplay and the new tutorial

  • Blind-box rewards and reveal animations

  • Steam saves, inventory, and account synchronization

  • Behavior with different resolutions, display scales, and window positions

Multi-monitor scenarios are still being tested. If you encounter problems with window positions, click areas, or panel display, please include your monitor arrangement, resolutions, and screenshots whenever possible.

If you encounter a problem during the Playtest, please follow the template in the Steam Community bug report thread and create a separate post:
