Still wondering whether to play High Times or not? Now that the Hotbox is finally open for business, here's a quick look at five things you'll be doing once you're behind the counter!

1, Solve your customers’ problems

While we believe all donuts are in essence a Cheer donut, there are various mood enhanced flavours available at the Hotbox! Customers would drop by and tell you about their day or a problem they have and it’s your job as the Mood Confectioner to hook them up with an appropriate donut!

Cody wants some help with anger management issues and we’ve got a few options… we can even combine two different moods (don’t forget the savory elements he asked for!)

Maybe Sincerity and Patience would work!

And now it’s just a waiting game for when your customer comes back and tells you how things went. Some unique scenes might unlock when you give customers certain donuts (and sometimes it’s actually better to give them something they didn’t ask for) so why not try out different moods? ☺️

2, Romance your fave

Some of the Hotbox customers are MC’s exes, but even if they’ve gone through a lot before, you’ll find out that there’s still a lot of things that MC doesn’t know about them. Rekindling past relationships will unlock things about the characters we didn’t know before!

(Also here’s a rare look at the Hotbox kitchen with Lucy!)

Getting the necessary romance points is important, but some characters require certain choices for their romance routes to unlock… Please look forward to our Romance CGs! 🥰

3, Connect with characters online!

Most of the customers will add you on Facenook after you meet them for the first time. You can look through their posts and see what kind of things they like and what they’re up to!

Fun fact: sometimes their posts are summaries of the previously unlocked VN scenes, so if it’s been a while and you’ve forgotten what MJ has been doing, you can check her Facenook for a refresher 🕵️

You can also receive text messages from the customers! Sometimes, they already have your number (for example, Connor and MC have been best buds for ages now). Sometimes they ask for your number directly (they gotta keep track of the latest Hotbox deals!)

And sometimes, like with Kyle here, they got your number through some sort of mistake…?

Good luck, Mood Confectioner!

Keeping in touch with your customers is important... but running the Hotbox isn't just about relationships.

4, Shop from Hamazon

After chatting with your customers, it's time to invest in the café itself!

Every donut you sell earns you money, and you'll use it to buy new toppings, decorations and plenty of other things from Hamazon.

After a long day of serving donuts, it's time to spend your cash! 😌

Once you've done a little shopping, it's time to make the Hotbox feel like your own.

5, Decorate the cafe

And now that we’ve collected our favourite decor, it’s time to place them all over the Hotbox! Look at how cute it looks now ☺️

Remember that customers are attracted to certain types of decor, so if you want characters like Lucy and Riri to drop by more often, placing the Big Teddy Bear would be the way to go!

We also discussed anti-decor in the previous dev log, so if you want to keep certain customers away, all you need is to decorate using a decor 'repellent'. We're currently working to make the anti-decor look more distinct in comparison to the regular decor!

Are you ready for messy people and emotional donuts? Because our cosy cafe is now open! Thanks so much for reading our vlogs! And if you’ve played the game, tell us which Hotbox customer is your favourite!
