For new players

  • Starting a new game now launches the controls tutorial right away (it didn't appear in earlier builds). You can skip it anytime from the top right. · W/A/S/D keys circle your character, a dotted line leads to each target, and the tree to chop blinks with a bouncing marker above it. · It also walks you through placement mode (place · rotate · cancel).
  • After the tutorial, a First goal · Build a Workbench card stays in the lower left — it tracks your wood (x/10), shows the path B key → Build → Base → Workbench, and tells you what to do next once it's built.
  • The nightfall tip shows up again.

Achievements

  • Achievements have new names.
  • Achievement rewards — press in the Achievements window to get items in your current character's bag (once per account).
  • 4 new first-hour achievements (tutorial · 10 wood · workbench · first stone).
  • "A Home of My Own" (first base) now counts a base you place yourself, not the starting campfire.

Multiplayer

  • With two or more players, names appear above characters. Matching names get different colors.
  • Turn on Share my location in the base window to show your position on others' minimap and world map.
  • If your connection drops for a moment, you now reconnect automatically and stay in the same world instead of being sent back to the lobby. (If it can't reconnect within a minute, you return to the lobby as before.)
  • A notice appears when the host stops responding.
  • Pick up where you left off — when friends rejoin with the same character, they keep their bag, gear, gold, base and storage. This works even if they join in a different order, or the host played solo in the meantime.
  • Fixed: a character created just to join a room started from scratch every time it rejoined. Note: progress made this way in earlier versions can't be recovered. It carries over from this version on.
  • If the spot where you left has since been blocked (by a building, for example), you now start at the nearest free spot instead of getting stuck.
  • Fixed: players joining from the lobby couldn't see some trees and rocks around their starting spot.
  • Fixed: "Already connected" after returning to the menu and joining again, and guests being left frozen when the host left.
  • Guest input reaches the host faster and more smoothly on unstable connections such as Wi-Fi.
  • Much less network traffic (about a quarter per guest in combat) and a lighter load on the host's PC.

Combat

  • When shooting a bow, your arm and arrow now point at the target (previously only left or right).
  • Skeleton and orc archers now aim their bows at their target too.

Visuals & other

  • Visual improvements: a redesigned bag screen, a hand-drawn parchment minimap and a new world map (sharper when zoomed in).
  • Regional specialty crops are now grown from seeds you plant in fields.
  • Removed the Ranking button from the lobby.
  • New Feedback · Discord button on the main menu — report bugs and share ideas right away.

The playtest runs until October 31 (up to 20 in-game days per account).
Update RogueForge Playtest in your Steam library to play.
