Our Closed Beta Playtest for NAUTUS has come to an end, and we’d like to start this message off with a huge 🩵Thank You🩵 to everyone that signed up, participated, and left valuable feedback in our Discord!
We’re humbled by your early interest in our game and proud to already have an excited and invested community that joins us on our development journey.
This is only the beginning, and your feedback helps us immensely in our quest to create a great game for you all. We’ve kept a close eye on the Playtest section in our Discord, gathering every bit of information you’ve shared over the past weeks. Here are some of our findings:
The numbers 📊
1,059 players joined for 1100 hours in total
641 of you drowned; Watch your gauges
281 died by a creature; The deeper you descend, the deadlier they become.
Oxygen and batteries were by far the most crafted and used consumables
So it's official: the ocean is quite dangerous.
What you loved ❤️
The art direction was the runaway winner. "The most beautiful game in this genre" came up again and again, and the game ran smooth.
You also called out the music, the notebook, bestiary and map, the characters and quests, and the character creator (special mention to the walking animation choices). A lot of you finished the main quest and kept going for the side quests. That means a lot to us.
Quality of life we're picking up 🔧
Collectibles shown on the map
Crafting straight from your chests
A directional cue toward quest objectives
Clearer damage feedback
Dialogue: bigger chat bubbles, easier skipping
What's next 🌊
No dates yet, but the list above exists because you took the time to write to us.
Keep it coming. 💙
