A new road is opening.
Black Road is a separate expansion for Pay Your Deeds built around illegal contracts, dangerous choices and an escalating hunt that can end your run before you ever reach the finish line.
This time, you are not dealing with the Bureau.
You owe The Broker.
Black Road introduces its own progression built around 8 unique Deeds.
Each contract has its own requirements and deadline. Complete them one by one, keep The Broker satisfied and survive long enough to reach the final deal.
Complete all 8 Deeds and escape the Black Road.
Fail your obligation to The Broker and your run is over.
Your actions now attract attention.
Risky Road Event choices, illegal deals and aggressive decisions can increase your Heat.
Keeping Heat under control gives you room to operate.
Let it climb too high and things become much more dangerous.
Once you attract enough attention, the Manhunt begins.
Unlike Heat, Manhunt represents how close your pursuers are to actually finding you.
You can slow it down, buy yourself time or lower the pressure through certain Black Market services and Road Event choices.
But if MANHUNT reaches 100, they catch you.
The run ends immediately.
Black Road introduces dedicated Road Events throughout the run.
Each event presents three different choices with clearly displayed consequences.
Choices can affect:
Scraps
Heat
Manhunt
Black Road bonuses
Your chances of surviving the next contract
Some options are safer.
Some are profitable.
Some are a terrible idea.
The choice is yours.
Black Road also replaces the normal shop experience with its own Black Market.
The familiar Reroll and Delete Symbol utilities remain available, while the rest of the market is built specifically for Black Road.
Use underground contacts, forged documents, bribes, safehouses and other services to manage Heat, interfere with the Manhunt and keep your run alive.
Knowing when to spend your Scraps can be just as important as earning them.
Black Road has its own:
The Broker progression
8 unique Deeds
Heat system
Manhunt system
Road Events with player choices
Black Market
Unique win condition
Unique loss conditions
The core Pay Your Deeds deck-building gameplay remains, but the pressure surrounding every decision is completely different.
Make money.
Keep The Broker paid.
Stay ahead of the hunters.
