Calvar - The Darkest Gate (Closed Beta) · published · build 25001306

Update 4.1.0 is here, bringing an important savegame fix alongside new psychological effects, reworked events, environmental improvements and further polish throughout the asylum.
• Fixed the savegame and chapter progression system. Savegames are now handled correctly when starting or continuing the game, resolving the progression issues introduced with the new chapter selection system.
• Players no longer need to manually delete their existing savegames in order to continue playing after the update.
• Added the new Schizophrenia Effect System. Psychological effects can now occur spontaneously during gameplay, making exploration less predictable.
• Fixed the TV sound on the First Floor East near the unlockable door.
• Reworked the Second Floor West enemy event triggered while passing the TV, including new SFX and psychological effects.
• Added a movement block for the head-banging actor in the West Stairwell and corrected the actor's positioning at the wall.
• Added a completely new Autopsy Report image.
• Added a new Spotlight and PsyVFX system to the Isolde Valerius flashback sequence. The underlying event system has also been hardened for improved reliability.
• Fixed the Third Floor door leading to the East Stairwell. The player now has enough space for correct positioning after teleportation.
• Started the first ceiling polish pass, including additional decals and environmental details.
• Reworked Isolde's Chimney Room with improved lighting and atmosphere.
• Added the first placement of the Bringer of Decay, preparing the asylum for upcoming features and events.
• Fixed and polished the area following the Babygrip sequence, including adjustments to the lantern and surrounding lighting.
• Progression at the Elevator Portal Room is now blocked at the intended point.
• Removed Thalassa after the Doctor event.
• The current playable version now continues up to the Doctor fight. This marks the current end of available content while development of the next sections continues.
