1.4 TIDE TABLE — a tide for the day, and records that go deeper

The run keeps going past round 11 — and there is a reason to come back tomorrow.

1.3 was about making the first ten minutes readable. 1.4 is about what happens after them: a tide that belongs to the day, records that no longer stop being reachable, and two ways out of the round-over screen that were never there.

A tide for the day — the same one for everyone

Round 1 is now pinned to a named tide that holds for the whole day and rolls over at your local midnight. Everyone playing today gets the same one. The menu says which, and whether you have been down yet:
TODAY'S TIDE — HEAVY TIDE · NOT YET DIVED, and once you have, BEST 74s.

And because the moment you decide whether to come back is the moment you are leaving, the round-over screen now signs off with tomorrow's:
TOMORROW'S TIDE — WATERLOGGED

Being straight with you: this is not new content. The deck has not grown, and round 2 onward already dealt you a different order every session. What is new is a schedule — named, shared, and said on the way out.

Round 10 was quietly the last round you could set a record in

Records were kept per card. The deck laps every 11 rounds and rounds get shorter the deeper you go — so round 12 dealt you the same card as round 1, and could never beat the time you set on it back when rounds ran two and a half minutes. Past round 10 the NEW BEST badge was mathematically unreachable for the rest of the run, and nothing told you.
Records are now kept per DEPTH as well. Every depth is judged against itself, so the first time you ever reach round 14 is a record by definition. The per-card record is still kept underneath, untouched.

BACK TO LOBBY

Changing mode, biome, colour or flair used to mean quitting to the main menu — which wiped the lobby. All four of you pressing JOIN again, picking colours again, readying again. Round-over now has a third button:
BACK TO LOBBY
Everyone stays joined and keeps their colour. Ready is cleared so nobody re-starts before the crew has picked, and a controller unplugged while you sat on the results screen is dropped from its slot instead of handing you a frozen body.

LAST CALL exists, and now the game says so

There are four rule sets in this game. Most people have only played one, because the only road to the others runs through the lobby, and the lobby is the screen nobody goes back to. Once a run laps the whole deck, that same third button offers the one with an actual ending:
TRY LAST CALL — best-of-5 match — one champion

It does not change your settings. It takes you to the lobby with the mode row waiting; your crew still picks it themselves.

Deep rounds are play now, not ceremony

The round-start ritual — camera sweep, then 3-2-1-GO — is 2.95 seconds, sized for a round 0 that lasts nearly three minutes. By round 20 a round is about eighteen seconds, so you were spending a sixth of it watching a countdown with your hands off the controls, over and over.
It now shrinks with depth: untouched through round 6, down to a single GO beat by round 12. Nothing about the tide or your air changes — the sea keeps its own schedule either way. You just stop waiting to be allowed to play.

A note on scope: the daily tide lines and BACK TO LOBBY are couch and host surfaces. If you join someone else's game you will not see them yet.

Snugfang is still free, so feedback is still the only currency I take. If you get to round 12 and the shorter countdown reads as rushed rather than brisk, tell me — that one is a judgement call, and I would rather hear it than guess.
