Point any game at your own save folder

Installed somewhere we didn't expect? Second drive, portable install, a launcher that moved the folder out from under us? Open the game on the Add screen and hit Change folder.Your folder goes to the front of the queue rather than replacing the list — so the same account on a laptop with no D: drive still finds the normal location instead of backing up nothing. Use default puts it back.

Your account, with a way back in

If you signed in through Steam, Steam has been the only way to reach your account and the only way to reach your saves. Now there's a second one. Settings → Account recovery takes an email address. Confirm it, optionally set a password, and you can sign in without Steam if you ever need to. Nothing changes until you click the link in that email. On the free plan, confirming the address also lands you +10 MB of extra storage. (Full and Pro already have room to spare, so it sits dormant there.)

Add games we don't stock

Add your own on the Add screen takes a name and a save folder, and that's the entire form. Auto-backup, version history, restore — all of it works exactly like a catalog game. Only you can see it, and it lives in your personal space: teams still need a game from the catalog, since your teammates have no way to find a folder only you named. The Add screen now filters by OFFICIAL (our catalog) and YOURS (games you added, plus catalog games pointed at your own folder), alongside the existing DETECTED.

28 Ubisoft Connect games

The Assassin's Creed line — Valhalla, Odyssey, Origins, Mirage, Shadows, Black Flag, Unity, Syndicate — plus Far Cry 3/4/5/6/Primal/New Dawn, Watch Dogs 1/2/Legion, Ghost Recon Wildlands and Breakpoint, Rainbow Six Siege, Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Star Wars Outlaws, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Immortals Fenyx Rising, South Park: The Stick of Truth, Riders Republic, The Crew 2 and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown. Two things to know. Sign in to Ubisoft Connect and launch the game once so the account folder exists. And these are Windows only — Ubisoft Connect doesn't expose its account folder under Proton, so they don't resolve on the Steam Deck. (The Crew 2 and Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown never used that folder, and do work there.)

Update through Steam and you're on it. Anything weird, tell us — Settings → Feedback goes straight to a human.
