Spades — scoring corrections

Several scoring bugs reported by players, all fixed:

  • Partnership scoring now uses the combined team contract. Previously each seat was scored against its own bid and the two summed. If you bid 3 and made 4 while your partner was set on 1, you'd score 21 — the correct result is 40. Both partners' bids now combine into one contract, as Spades is actually played.

  • Bags now count. Overtricks accumulate and cost −100 points once your side reaches ten, which the rules described but the game never applied. Overtricks used to be free.

  • Blind Nil is finally blind. The Blind Nil offer appeared after your hand was dealt face-up, so you could take a ±200 bet knowing exactly what you held. Your hand now stays sealed until you decline.

  • Play as teams or individually. A 4-player table now asks which you'd prefer before the first deal.

  • Seat readouts show the team contract. Your plate leads with your side's combined bid and tricks, with your own contribution below — so a plate can no longer read "made" while your team is set.

500

  • 5-player games are playable again. The auction could never complete at five seats, so the kitty went nowhere and the deal fell apart.

  • The bidding side scored nothing, at every player count. Fixed.

  • The bid ladder started 20 too low, which could lock a human player out of the auction.

Sheepshead

  • The Jack of Diamonds partner now exists. Every hand had been scored with the picker playing alone against four defenders, needing 61 of 120 points single-handed. Partnerships now resolve properly, with standard stakes.

Euchre & Elevator

  • Going alone no longer asks you to discard when your partner ordered you up

  • Elevator's turned-up card renders correctly, and No Trump displays properly on the top floor

  • Bid bubbles persist, live bids update, and the deal animation no longer swallows clicks

Multiplayer

  • Invite friends directly, with an "Invited" panel showing who's accepted

  • Join a friend's game from the setup screen

  • Whose turn it is now shows at a networked table for everyone, naming what they're doing

  • The host chooses what happens when someone drops — bot takes over, wait, or end the game

  • Host promotion works when the host leaves

  • Everyone at the table now hears the same banter

  • Fixed: a remote player could pass a Joker on the round Diamonds bars it

Controller & Steam Deck

  • Controls help on Select (or F1) from any screen

  • B is a Back button again on controllers

  • Shoulder buttons cycle fields in every dialog, not just some

  • Previously unused buttons assigned: L2 scoreboard, R3 rules, L3 hand help, right stick scrolls

  • WASD works alongside the arrow keys

  • Credits and Legal pages are reachable by pad instead of mouse-only

Stability

  • Fixed crashes on the splash screen and a hang that could spin after leaving a table

  • Bot names now appear in the table log during multiplayer instead of "P3"

Multiplayer: someone dropping no longer ends your evening This is the headline. Previously a player leaving was, at best, confusing for everyone still sitting there. Now: · The host decides what ha…
