Today we're releasing The Controller Update, a major quality-of-life patch focused on improving controller support throughout Ancient Kingdoms. Whether you're playing with a gamepad, on Steam Deck, or simply prefer controller gameplay, this update should provide a much smoother experience.
🎮 Controller Improvements
- Improved controller support across the game
- Fixed an issue where touch screen devices could disable controller input
- Character creation can now be completed using a controller
- Character selection is now fully supported with a controller
- Fixed a bug preventing attribute points from being assigned with a controller
🏰 Guilds
- Added Guild Registrars to all major towns
Guilds are currently in their first phase and mainly serve as a social and account-wide feature. Even solo players can create a guild for themselves and their alts.
⚔️ Gameplay & Balance
- Increased reputation gains from bosses and elites
- Increased drop rate for Ethereal Hide, Ancient Cyclops Bones, and Black Dragon Scales
- Increased drop rate for key fragments from Druvina and Morwyn
- Increased gold rewards from bosses and elites in Molten Sanctuary and Temple of Valaark
- Adjusted stats for Vaeltharos
- Reduced Radiant Aether critical multiplier from 3x to 2x
- Old Valorath progress now at 20%
🖥️ UI & Quality of Life
- Added a new Lock UI option in Settings
- Added item icons to all tooltips
- Armor Set Bonuses now always appear in tooltips, even when inactive
- Holding Shift while hovering over an equipment item now shows "Changes if Equipped" for your mercenary when the mercenary equipment panel is open
- Backpack hotkey now opens the main inventory as well
- NPC repair windows now display mercenary equipment
🐉 Fixes
- Fixed Valaark's Scourge tooltip
- Fixed a bug where ranged mercenaries could leave Zarothak's room in Krom Razz
- Fixed a visual issue with Thalrakar's dragon breath
📦 Items
- Added NO-TRADE tag to Radiant Aethers
- Molten Sanctuary armor is now sellable
