Just a quick heads-up: yesterday we published a new update for the ScribeRPG demo.
This update includes two important changes:
We extended the opening area of the game to give new players more time to get familiar with the mechanics and absorb all the information introduced at the beginning. We hope this makes the opening feel more comfortable and easier to settle into.
We discovered a rendering issue affecting sprite lights, mostly on GeForce 5000 series cards, which caused visual glitches during sunrise and sunset lighting.
After a lot of testing and bug hunting, we found out this is actually a Unity-related issue. As a workaround, we switched the game’s rendering to the Vulkan API, where these glitches do not occur.
Not the fix we expected - but after a very long round of research, testing, and bug reporting, we’re happy we found a reliable solution.
We’re now focusing on updates to the game’s core mechanics, including a rock climbing overhaul and full controller support for all menus and UI.
Have a great day!
