This update focuses on community feedback from real streamers using the app in the wild, plus the first steps toward a persistent AI companion that actually grows with you. WHAT'S NEW IN v0.3.0: 👤 AI PROFILES & MEMORY (EARLY ACCESS) • AI Profiles — Create named character profiles that save your personality settings, character name, traits, and job as a reusable package. Switch between characters instantly from Settings → 👤 AI Profiles → "Capture Current Settings as Profile". Perfect for streamers who run multiple personas (cozy mode vs gaming mode, different characters on different days). • Profile Memory — She Remembers You — Every profile has its own memory file (MEMORY.md). Write in what she should know: your channel name, your regular viewers, running gags, what game you're currently playing, inside jokes. She reads it naturally at the start of every session — no re-explaining required, no more starting from scratch. • Live Memory Editor — The "View/Edit Memory" textarea in Settings lets you update memory mid-stream. Add a viewer's name, note a funny moment, update what game you're playing — she knows it immediately. Hit Save and the next response already uses it. • Save Session Memory — The "Save Session Memory" button is in the UI and will auto-distill today's full stream conversation into memory with one click. The AI reviews the chat, extracts the important stuff, and adds it to her long-term memory automatically. STREAM CO-HOST UPGRADES • YouTube Live Chat Support — Connect the AI to your YouTube Live stream using a YouTube Data API key. She reads chat, responds to mentions, keywords, or all messages — same as Twitch. No OAuth required, read-only. • Donation Callouts (Twitch + YouTube) — Bits cheers, subs/resubs on Twitch and Super Chats on YouTube now trigger a dedicated AI response. She'll thank the viewer by name, read their message, and react with an animation — every time, bypassing the rate limit. • Twitch: Bits & Sub Alerts — Parsed directly from Twitch IRC tags — no OAuth, no extra setup. Works alongside existing read-only chat connection. • Viewers Called By Name — When responding to stream chat messages, the AI now addresses the chatter by their username in the response. AVATAR FIXES • Fixed: Mouth Doesn't Move During TTS — A critical missing wire meant the lip-sync was never actually triggered when TTS played. Her jaw/canvas mouth now animates correctly for all models during every spoken response. • Fixed: Right-Click Orbit Gets Stuck — Releasing the right mouse button outside the Electron window would leave the avatar spinning indefinitely. A bitmask guard now catches this edge case every mouse move. HOW TO SET UP AI PROFILES & MEMORY: 1. Open Settings → scroll to 👤 AI Profiles
2. Type a profile name (e.g. "Pirate Greeny", "Cozy Mode") → click 📸 Capture Current Settings
3. Click Load on the profile — the active profile bar appears at the top
4. Click 📖 View/Edit Memory — type what she should remember (your name, current game, regular viewers, running gags)
5. Click 💾 Save — she picks it up immediately. Every stream starts with her already knowing your world. Memory is stored as a plain text file per profile — you can edit it freely. The AI reads it as background context, drawing on it naturally without announcing it. SETTING UP YOUTUBE LIVE CHAT (30 SECONDS): 1. Go to Google Cloud Console (console.cloud.google.com)
→ create a project → enable YouTube Data API v3 2. Credentials → Create API Key (restrict to YouTube Data API v3) 3. In VTuber Assistant: Settings → Stream Chat → Platform: YouTube → paste your API Key + Video ID (from your live stream URL) 4. Click Connect — she'll start reading chat automatically YouTube Super Chats are detected automatically and trigger an enthusiastic donation callout with the viewer's name and amount. No additional setup needed!
SETTING UP TWITCH DONATION ALERTS:
Bits cheers and sub/resub notifications work automatically with your existing Twitch channel connection — just enable Stream Chat as usual and the AI will call out donations when they arrive.
