Fantasy World Manager · published
Hey everyone! ❤️
I honestly can't believe I'm finally writing this, but here we are...
Fantasy World Manager is officially launching into Early Access on October 28th! 🎉
It's been almost exactly two years since I started working on what was supposed to be a simple little map editor. Just a small passion project, something I could work on in my free time.
Well... things got a little out of hand.
That simple map editor slowly turned into something much bigger. An incredibly ambitious, probably ridiculously overscoped dream game that you now know as Fantasy World Manager.
And somehow, against all odds, we're actually getting ready to release it.
When I started this journey, I genuinely had no idea how far I would get. I'm just one guy developing a game while working a full-time job, spending countless evenings, weekends, and nights trying to turn an idea into something real.
And as if life wasn't busy enough already... my son decided to spawn into this world about a month ago! ❤️
So yeah, I have absolutely no idea what a proper night's sleep feels like anymore. But honestly? I couldn't be happier. I'm completely in love with that little guy, and becoming a father while preparing to release my first game has made these past few weeks the most exhausting, chaotic, and beautiful time of my life.
It's a lot. Sometimes it's overwhelming. But seeing how far this project has come makes every single sleepless night worth it.
Fantasy World Manager will launch with a base price of $15 USD, with regional pricing enabled.
I want the game to be reasonably affordable regardless of where you live, so regional prices will be adjusted accordingly.
There will also be a launch discount between 10% and 20%, with the final percentage to be confirmed closer to release!
I'm also really happy to confirm something I've been working hard on behind the scenes.
Fantasy World Manager will launch into Early Access with Steam Workshop support!
You'll be able to share and discover:
Worlds – Share your creations with the community and explore worlds made by other players.
Prefabs – Upload and download custom content created using the game's various editors.
Custom Sprites – Bring your own artwork into the game and share it with others.
One of my biggest dreams for Fantasy World Manager has always been to give players the tools to create their own fantasy worlds, stories, and experiences.
And honestly, I can't wait to see what you guys come up with. I have a feeling some of you will create things I couldn't even imagine myself. While there is still alot of work to be done on the Simulation side, i am confident that there are no limits on the Building Side of things.
Some of you may have noticed that the roadmap on the Steam store page is a little outdated. I'll be updating it soon to better reflect the current plans and priorities.
There are still so many things I want to bring to Fantasy World Manager, including:
Expanded modding support
WorldBox-style simulation mode, where you'll be able to watch your world develop and evolve more autonomously without having to build anything yourself! Disclaimer: if you are here for something like that, you should consider waiting until its available during EA.
More content, simulation systems, interactions, and customization options
Continuous improvements to performance, stability, and usability
The WorldBox-style mode won't be available immediately at launch, but it's absolutely something I intend to introduce during Early Access.
And I want to be transparent about something.
Fantasy World Manager is not going to be a perfectly polished game on October 28th.
It's an incredibly ambitious project being developed by a single person. Some systems will still feel clunky, some features will need more work, and there will definitely be bugs and things that need improving.
This is my first real game, and I'm still learning new things every single day.
But that's exactly why we're launching into Early Access.
I want to build and improve this game together with you. Your feedback, ideas, criticism, and creativity have already helped shape Fantasy World Manager into what it is today, and I want that to continue throughout its development.
My biggest hope is that this release will eventually allow me to work on Fantasy World Manager full-time and give it the attention it truly deserves.
Because October 28th isn't the finish line. It's the beginning of the next chapter.
I don't think I can properly express how much your support has meant to me over these past two years.
Every wishlist, every encouraging comment, every bug report, every suggestion, and every person who took the time to try the demo has helped me keep going.
There were plenty of moments when I questioned whether I was being completely insane trying to build something of this scale on my own.
And, well... maybe I am a little insane.
But knowing that there are people out there who genuinely care about this project, who are excited about it, and who want to see it succeed means more to me than you can imagine.
I'm nervous. I'm excited. I'm exhausted. And I'm honestly a little terrified.
But most importantly, I'm incredibly proud that we've made it this far.
If you want to support Fantasy World Manager, the biggest thing you can do right now is spread the word. Tell your friends, share the game, and help us make October 28th a day to remember.
Thank you for believing in this ridiculously ambitious little dream of mine.
See you on October 28th!
Much love,
Florian – Developer of Fantasy World Manager ❤️
