Hello

Let's start with the important stuff.

New Game Plus

September 10th.

That's when the new update will come. Or some time around that date. Might delay it by a day or two in case I run into unexpected issues. But for now, everything is going great. Got the new boss working, made him some new sfx and I am even working on a new song. The new difficulty scaling system is working well; I also finished implementing all the new upgrades and the new enemies. I still have to test them. But at first glance, they work perfectly! Just like everything else when you make a game.

Soundtrack

Next up, is the the OST. I decided to add it here as a bundle you can purchase. If you wanna listen to it it's also on YouTube. This is just a way to support the project a bit more if you really feel like it. I included an extra song as a bonus in case you do buy it. And I will also add the new one in there once it's ready. So in case you do buy it, thank you very much! In other news, I am also experimenting to some tweaks to the ASCII art. I had an idea that might help make it easier to read. Or it might make it much worse. We'll see. If it does make it better, it will be a toggleable option.

Now for some fun stuff.

I am playing around with a concept for a new game. It is not related to BITP, it is something completely different. It is a co-op experience. In a fantasy setting. It is isometric, it has fighting, it has base building elements, it has tower defense elements. And it is going to be fully drawn by yours truly. Now... there is a small issue. I cannot really draw. I began learning a few years ago, stuck to it for like a month but then gave up because I couldn't really get the hang of the basics of... making lines. The thing is that, when I was little, like very little, I drew something.

As any kid does at some point. And my parents laughed at me so much (apparently it was shit even by kid standards) that I decided that I will never draw anything ever again. I know this sounds like a villain origin story. But it's true. Only once had I tried to break that promise. When I was like 10, in school, we had this drawing class or whatever. And usually, my mom would do the drawings for me so I get a good grade. But that time I decided to do it myself. Now, the teacher was this old lady that was always angry and was yelling constantly. We had to draw an underwater scene.

When she saw what I made, she raised her face, looked into my eyes, then burst into laughter. Legit. Then I felt kinda sad, but in hindsight I do understand the reaction. I wanted to make a lot of little fish. And the only way I knew how to make a fish was by making a long oval thing (the body) with two circles at one end (the tail) and a little smile. It looked like a little smiling penis. And I had worked very diligently to fill an entire A3 page with these little guys.

So yeah. Now I am trying again. I got a bunch of books and everything. Been working on this every day since I began working on BITP, actually. And the "cutscenes" you see at important points in the dialogue (the ones that look like a sketch) were done by me. That's kinda where we're standing now. My line control is still shit, I am incapable of coloring stuff but I can get shapes that look like more than smiling penises.

Now that I remembered, I wanted to "fix" these artworks, like at least give them some flat colors in time for this update. But I am even struggling with flat colors. So hopefully I'll get it done for the Halloween update that is (spoiler) gonna come out around the end of October. Around that time, I hope I can finish a silly little DLC I have planned, so I can release it at the same time with the update. (for free, of course)

And to clarify some things. I am not promising this game is coming out any time soon. Right now it is just an outlet to store all my non-BITP ideas. My priority now is polishing up and improving BITP as much as I can. After I run out of ideas, then I'll be moving on the the next project. Maybe I'll end up making a sequel to BITP first. Who knows.

One more thing.

I always feel bad when I make a post and it's just a big block of text. So I am going to give you a little teaser for this new game I spoke of. It's a sketch of a playable character I did one night when I was struck by inspiration. If you can guess who she is, you'll basically know the theme of this next game.

(Had to censor her a bit so Steam wouldn't flag this post as mature only, sorry for that)
