First Login in Modern Warships on Steam

Step 1: Choose your login method

When you launch the Steam version for the first time, you will see two main options:

Steam / Play — log in through Steam.
Sign in — log in manually with your existing Modern Warships account.

Please choose carefully before continuing.

Step 2: If you already played the PC version on this computer

If the standalone PC version of Modern Warships was already installed on your computer and your login data was saved, the Steam version may automatically detect your existing account after you press the Steam / Play button.

This can happen if one of these options was enabled in the previous PC version:

Save Login Data in the account settings.

Or Remember password on the login screen.

In this case, after pressing Steam / Play, the game may load your existing Modern Warships account automatically.

If you already have the standalone PC client installed on your computer, you can try using your existing game files to reduce the Steam download size.

Start installing Modern Warships on Steam, pause the download after it begins, then close Steam. After that, copy your current Modern Warships files to this folder:

Steam\\steamapps\\common\\Modern Warships

Then open Steam again and let it verify the files. Steam may still download some missing or updated files, but this can help reduce the total download size.

Step 3: If you already have an account, but the PC version was not installed

If you already have a Modern Warships account, but the standalone PC version was not installed on this computer, or your login data was not saved, do not press Steam / Play first.

Use Sign in on the main login screen instead.

To do this, your Modern Warships account must have an email and password linked to it.

If you only used Google Play, iOS, or Facebook login before, please open the mobile version first, log into your existing account there, and link an email address to your account.

After that, return to the Steam version, press Sign in, and enter the email and password from your existing Modern Warships account.

Once you log in, this account will be linked to Steam and used as your Steam account going forward.

Step 4: If you want to start fresh

If there is no saved Modern Warships account data on your computer and you press Steam / Play, the game will create a new account linked to Steam.

This is fine for new players, but if you already have progress on another account, please use Sign in first.

Step 5: If you pressed Steam / Play by mistake

If you already had a Modern Warships account, but pressed Steam / Play first and a new account was created, you can still switch to your existing account.

Open the account settings, log out from the current account, then return to the login screen and choose Sign in.

Enter the email and password from your existing Modern Warships account.

After that, the game will ask which account should be linked to Steam. Choose the account you want to continue playing with.

Please check this step carefully, especially if your existing account already has progress, ships, items, or purchases.

Quick summary

If you played the PC version on this computer and had your login data saved, Steam / Play may load your existing account automatically.

If you already have a Modern Warships account, but your PC version data is not saved on this computer, use Sign in first. You will need to log in with the email and password linked to your Modern Warships account.

If you previously used only Google Play, iOS, or Facebook login, open the mobile version first, log into your existing account, and link an email address to it. After that, return to the Steam version and use Sign in.

If you press Steam / Play without saved account data, a new Steam-linked account will be created.

If you pressed Steam / Play by mistake and a new account was created, log out from that account, choose Sign in, enter the email and password from your existing account, and then select which account should be linked to Steam.

Important

If you already have progress in Modern Warships, check your login method before pressing Steam / Play.

One careful click now can save your fleet from accidentally starting a brand-new career.

The age of massive-caliber artillery rapidly gave way to a new force that would rise to the top of the food chain in naval warfare. The fate of giants such as the Yama…
