Hello roller scientists! Today I've released another update implementing a technical feature I've been testing for some time. Thanks to a process known as multi-threading, I've found a way for the game to generate coaster track more efficiently. The result of this is an overall performance increase while editing coasters, which is particularly noticeable on longer coasters. Having seen some of the more ambitious builds players have made in the game already, I think this is a much needed improvement to keep the creation process enjoyable. A before and after comparison can be seen here:
Full update changelog:
Implemented multithreaded coaster generation, boosting editor performance.
Players now get prompted to enter a park name when creating a new save first.
Imported parks no longer show their file extension upon first import.
Save naming fields now filter out unsupported characters prior to saving to avoid errors.
Fixed example park coasters not connecting/breaking correctly.
Slightly moved mouse cursor icons to align better.
Other bugfixes.
Hopefully the optimizations will lend themselves to a more free feeling editor that allows for even crazier ride designs! More updates will be coming soon.
