Hello! We’re BANJIHA GAMES, the dev team behind <FAKEBOOK>.

Today, we’d like to share a few recent updates about <FAKEBOOK>, along with some thoughts from our team.

First of all, thank you!

Your love for <FAKEBOOK>, as well as all the thoughtful reviews and feedback you’ve shared with us, continue to bring us so much joy and give us motivation to keep making games.

<FAKEBOOK> was our very first PC title, and it received even more love than we ever expected. Even though we were still inexperienced in many ways throughout development and release, you showed us tremendous support and anticipation.

We truly believe <FAKEBOOK> has come this far thanks to all of you.

Once again, thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

-

There have been quite a few updates for <FAKEBOOK> recently.

First, we have gradually added English, Japanese, and Chinese support so that more players around the world can enjoy <FAKEBOOK>!

After its original Korean release in 2024, it took around one to two years of localization work before we were able to support these additional languages. And this was only possible thanks to the help of some truly wonderful people.

As many of you already know, <FAKEBOOK> contains an enormous amount of worldbuilding, text, and imagery, filled with all kinds of subtle nuances, cultural references, and memes.

For a small Korean indie game studio like ours, properly localizing <FAKEBOOK> and releasing it in other languages honestly felt almost impossible.

But almost miraculously, some of the people who enjoyed <FAKEBOOK> reached out and willingly offered to help us bring the game to more players around the world.

"I want players in my country to experience <FAKEBOOK> too."

"I can’t be the only one who gets to enjoy a game this ambitious!"

We are incredibly grateful to these fans, who spent one or even two years working on the localization, both independently and in close collaboration with our team.

Thanks to their dedication, <FAKEBOOK> is now available in all of the languages it currently supports.

We know there are still many parts of the English, Japanese, and Chinese versions that may feel imperfect or awkward.

Please continue to share your feedback whenever you notice something that could be improved. We’ll keep listening, making corrections, and updating the game so that we can provide a better experience for everyone.

As part of this journey, <FAKEBOOK> has also been appearing at global game shows!

This year, we participated in the 30th anniversary Tokyo Game Show, as well as ChinaJoy, as part of the Korean pavilion.

We are incredibly grateful for the honor of being able to represent Korean games at some of the world’s major gaming events.

Meeting players from around the world face-to-face, and hearing your feedback and encouragement directly, is one of the most rewarding experiences we can have as game developers.

By taking part in more global game shows, we’ve also had the chance to discover all kinds of games and meet development teams from around the world.

These experiences have brought us new ideas, tremendous motivation, and exciting opportunities. We hope you’ll look forward to the many different games we hope to bring you in the future.

-

And that’s why we’ve also been actively pursuing collaborations!

First, we recently released <FAKEBOOK>’s first DLC, <KUUKIYOMI Collaboration DLC>.

We originally met the <KUUKIYOMI> team by chance at a game event in Korea, and we still remember how much fun we had talking about games together.

Afterward, we started wondering what kind of collaboration would be fun for both teams, and that eventually became <KUUKIYOMI Collaboration DLC>!

<KUUKIYOMI Collaboration DLC> is a free DLC that blends the cute, understated charm of <KUUKIYOMI> with a little bit of social media suspense(?) unfolding through some very awkward situations.

If you haven’t tried <FAKEBOOK>’s global IP collaboration yet, we hope you’ll give it a play!

We were also fortunate enough to create a collaboration bundle with <No Case Should Remain Unsolved>.

Check out the <No Case Should Remain Unsolved> Bundle

It was a tremendous honor for us to create a collaboration bundle with SOMI’s <No Case Should Remain Unsolved>, one of the most celebrated Korean indie mystery games.

SOMI’s games were a major inspiration for us when we first began developing mystery games, and our team once dreamed of becoming game developers while playing and admiring his work.

Even now, it still feels almost surreal that we’ve had the chance to collaborate with someone we consider a role model.

<No Case Should Remain Unsolved> is also a fantastic game in its own right.

It delivers a truly memorable storytelling experience, and if you haven’t played it yet, we wholeheartedly recommend giving it a try!

And now, we have some new news! We’re doing a small collaboration with <No Results Found>!

<No Results Found> is a free Korean indie mystery game in which players investigate NineTentaclism to uncover the truth behind a bizarre mass drowning involving 227 people.

And now, <No Results Found> and <FAKEBOOK> are joining forces for a small collaboration!

Our team recently had the chance to meet the developers of <No Results Found>.

Both <FAKEBOOK> and <No Results Found> are mystery games built around unique text-based mechanics. As we talked about our development processes, we found it fascinating just how similar many of the questions and challenges both teams had faced were.

The two games also share quite a few similarities in concept, as both create fictional worlds for players to explore while uncovering the secrets hidden within them.

After having such a great time talking about our games, we decided it would be fun to leave a few small mementos from each game inside the other.

Check out <No Results Found>

We’ve now hidden some of the main characters from <No Results Found> as cameos inside <FAKEBOOK>!

If you manage to find these cameos and follow the trail all the way to the end, you’ll be able to reach the game page for <No Results Found>.

We hope hunting for them gives you one more reason to explore the sprawling social media world of <FAKEBOOK>.

Going forward, we hope to keep connecting with even more teams across the game development scene and continue searching for new ideas and opportunities that can help all of us create even more interesting games.

If there are any collaborations you’d love to see—or if there are any indie games with a similar atmosphere that you personally enjoy—we’d love to hear your recommendations!

-

Finally, we’re also working on our next game.

<FAKEBOOK> was our team’s very first PC title, so naturally, we developed it with a tremendous amount of care and affection.

At the same time, because it was our first attempt, there were also many areas where we were inexperienced and many things we wished we could have done better.

As we began preparing our next project, we carefully reflected on each piece of feedback you shared with us while playing <FAKEBOOK>.

Check out <Cold Case>

The Steam page for our next title, <Cold Case>, is now live.

With <Cold Case>, we’ve spent a great deal of time thinking about how we can deliver an even more immersive mystery-solving experience.

In <Cold Case>, you investigate case records damaged in a fire by directly “typing” your deductions, gradually restoring the lost information and uncovering the facts and truths hidden behind each case.

The feeling of personally conducting the investigation is at the heart of the experience.

If you enjoyed <FAKEBOOK>, we think you’ll enjoy <Cold Case> as well.

That’s all from us for now!

We’ll keep doing our best to bring you even more exciting games in the future.

Thank you, as always, for your support!
