Rangers, Nine years after release, we're heading back into the void with The Almost Anniversary Update. This update brings more loot to chase, new enemies to learn, and a new mission to take on in Void Rangers. We've revisited the campaign, the arsenal, and the armory, with performance and loading speed optimizations throughout. Five new rarity tiers take the hunt beyond Legendary. Mythic, Ascendant, Omega, Infinite, and Absolute give you new rewards to work toward across the 20-mission campaign:
Mythic: Mission 7
Ascendant: Mission 9
Omega: Mission 12
Infinite: Mission 15
Absolute: Mission 20
The first clear of each of these milestones grants a weapon of its new rarity in addition to your normal rewards. Regular mission victories start with two random weapon rewards, with chances for more. Persistent bad-luck protection helps you work toward high-rarity drops, with progress carried between sessions. New tiers unlock through successful mission clears. All higher rarities have bigger chances to drop and every mission unlocked improves the chances of higher rarities even further. Those changes together should minimize the grind.
Take on a new harvester defense mission. Missions 5 and 15 take you on a night crossing aboard a moving harvester. Fight off raiders, use the repair projector to restore its four drive cores, and keep it moving to the finish. Ten new specialist enemies change your priorities in battle. Reclaimers repair their allies, Nullifiers protect nearby enemies, Splitters release smaller droids when destroyed, and Phase Stalkers retreat after taking damage. Bombardiers, Berserkers, Rail Snipers, Void Leeches, Battle Commanders, and Prism Wardens complete the new roster. Remixed waves combine swarms, heavy enemies, escorts, and reinforcements across the campaign and Endless Mode. Returning to a familiar mission can mean facing a different mix of threats. Build an armory worthy of your collection. Buy additional weapon slots and upgrade how many weapons each slot holds. Capacity upgrades apply across your armory, with room for up to 77 weapons when fully expanded. If you're full, you can sell an unopened weapon reward directly. Expanded auto-sell options now include Legendary, Mythic, and Ascendant equipment. The weapon bench also gives you clearer comparisons, including effective stats, damage type, and range. Combat and progression have been rebalanced. We've refined weapon handling and firing consistency, smoothed difficulty increases, and retuned combat earnings, weapon prices, upgrade costs, and resale values. Performance and loading speed have received multiple broad optimization passes. We've optimized busy battles, mission loading, and the armory to reduce slowdowns, shorten waits, and keep you in the action. New Low, Medium, and High graphics presets, plus a shadow toggle, make it easier to adjust the game for your setup. And tons of bug fixes. We've addressed issues across combat, menus, equipment, saves, and localization. Good hunting, Rangers.
