Update v1.1.0 | Challenge mode is here!

Miseria · published 24 Aug 2026, 09:12 UTC · build 24902884

All newsPlayers around this dateRead on Steam

Challenge Mode offers a new way to experience Miseria and is unlocked after completing the main campaign.

One Run. No Second Chances.

Your objective is to reach Floor 90 in a single, unforgiving run. You cannot return to town or travel back to previous floors. If your party dies, the run ends and all progress made during that attempt is lost.

Create a Different Build Each Time

After completing every two floors, you will be presented with three random upgrades from the passive skill tree. Choose one to strengthen your party and shape your build as you descend.

If none of the options fit your strategy, you can reroll them but every reroll will cost more than the previous one. Sometimes, adapting to what the abyss gives you may be wiser than spending your resources searching for the perfect upgrade.

Expand Your Party

Every ten floors, you will encounter the Blacksmith. By paying him gold, you can recruit a random new character to join your group.

Deciding when to spend your gold, which upgrades to choose and how to build your party will be essential if you hope to survive all the way to Floor 90.

One More Journey into the Abyss

Challenge Mode is designed as a focused bonus experience for players who enjoyed the campaign and would like to spend a little more time with Miseria. It is not intended to be a completely new game or a full-sized expansion, but rather a more unpredictable and unforgiving way to revisit its characters, progression and combat systems.

Thank you to everyone who has played and supported Miseria. I hope Challenge Mode gives you a good reason to return to the abyss and a few more runs along the way.

Have fun and good luck :)
