Hello Captains,

This update adds a new Planning Mode for single-player battles.Naval battles can move quickly, especially when several ships must be controlled at the same time. Planning Mode allows you to pause the entire battle, review the current situation, and prepare multiple orders before continuing.Press Spacebar to activate Planning Mode. While Planning Mode is active, the battle remains completely paused, but ships and targets can still be selected, and orders can be issued or adjusted.Press Spacebar again to resume the battle and execute the prepared commands.

Route and Rally Point Planning

While Planning Mode is active, hold Shift and left-click on the battlefield to add multiple rally points.Ships will follow the connected rally points as a smooth curved route instead of making sharp turns at each point. To remove a rally point, left-click the existing point. This allows more detailed routes to be prepared before the battle resumes.

Reserved Fire Orders

Broadside and sequential fire orders can now be reserved while Planning Mode is active. You can prepare fire orders for either the port or starboard side and assign the intended target before resuming the battle.Reserved guns will be visually highlighted, and the predicted hit probability will be displayed on the selected target. When the battle resumes, the prepared fire order will be executed.

Reserved Boarding Orders

Boarding and grappling orders can also be prepared while the battle is paused.Once the battle resumes, the boarding order will activate when the required conditions are met.

Fleet Volley Orders

When a formation or ship group is selected, a broadside can be reserved for the entire fleet with a single command. After the battle resumes, all ships with a valid target will fire together.Ships without a valid firing solution will not fire, preventing unnecessary shots and wasted reloads. This makes it possible to prepare coordinated fleet volleys before restarting the battle.

Fleet-Wide Orders

When commanding a fleet through the flagship, the following orders can be applied across the selected formation or group:

  • Fire delegation

  • Sail trim

  • Formation orders

This allows larger fleets to be managed more efficiently during complex battles.

Full Battle Pause

Planning Mode freezes the entire battlefield like a snapshot.Ships, the sea, smoke, cannon fire, projectiles, and visual effects all remain paused while orders are being prepared.Battle sound effects also stop, while the background music continues playing.Planning Mode is currently available in single-player battles.Press Spacebar to pause the battle, prepare your orders, and resume when you are ready.See you on the sea,Ship of the Line Developer
