Today we made Playtest 1 of Outsail The Sun available on steam!

Playtest 1 features:

  • One playable campaign

  • One vampirate captain & ship

  • A wide range of gunners and utility sailors to build a crew with

  • A list of achievements highlighting the most important activities the playtest has to offer

  • A feedback form we hope you'll make use of

This playtest focuses on the game's core mechanics and moment-to-moment gameplay. Metaprogression and traditional roguelite characteristics for long term engagement will be introduced in a later playtest.

Feedback we're particularly interested in:

  • First impressions of controls

  • First impressions of the onboarding, how long does it take before the experience "clicks".

  • Difficulty and perceived intensity level

  • Thoughts on how it feels to manage the sun's ever looming presence

  • Overall fun factor

  • Bugs

  • Feature requests, the game's still at a place where the right idea can make a difference!

Good luck conquering the seas, and thank you for playing!

Cheers

Tom
