MEGACITY Update 2.6.0 - Ecology Rebalance and Pause Fix.
This update makes the ecology system fair and recoverable, and fixes a bug where paused games kept making progress.
Ecology: fair, recoverable, and readable.
- Outbreaks no longer spiral forever. Disease outbreaks and toxic blooms now burn out and are contained after a set number of turns instead of stacking endlessly. The damage they deal each turn is capped, so a bad moment can no longer snowball out of control.
- Your city can recover. With no active outbreak and some investment in ecological buildings, the biosphere slowly climbs back to a survivable level instead of staying pinned at the bottom.
- Early warnings that tell you what to do. Before disaster strikes you get clear alerts for a failing or collapsing biosphere, rising disease risk, and toxic bloom risk, each spelling out the fix, such as Biofilter Stations, Bioremediation Plants, Reclamation Domes, or a Mass Vaccination Drive.
- Delegate disease management. With your Chancellor set to act or suggest, they will now step in during a health emergency and enact vaccination or public health edicts before things tip over.
- Still a challenge. At genuinely bad stats the situation remains dangerous. This removes the unfair doom spiral, not the difficulty.
Pause fix
- Pausing now truly pauses everything. A paused game no longer grants resources or messages for the time you were paused, including when you switch away and return or reload. Un-pausing can never quietly hand that time back later either.
A heartfelt thank you for the feedback that led to these changes.
