Hey everyone,

This patch introduces a brand new level, The Attic, along with some changes and improvements to the overall game. Sanity is also entirely functional, and has been changed a fair amount. This is just a basic implementation for now. Building has also been vastly expanded.

Additions:

  • A new level, The Attic has been added. A small level that will be expanded in the future with dangerous falls. Watch your step.

  • Sanity now functions entirely, once it hits zero you start to lose health as you slowly start to dig out your skin

  • Warnings for low hunger, thirst, and sanity will now appear at the left of your screen

  • Added lots of new props you can now pick up and move around in The Office. This will be expanded to other levels overtime. You should be able to build a functional small base now. The new movable props in the office that have been added are:

    • Small Desk

    • Computer Tower

    • Desktop

    • Desk Lamp

    • Phone

    • More Wooden Boards

  • Added a universal chest/bank system, which you can find sci-fi crates in the level, called Void Chests, that can store your items and permanently save them across levels/when you quit. This chest system will be expanded upon in the future, and you will be able to move them around with the building system.

  • Sanity zones have been implemented. In dark, unsettling environments, you'll notice your sanity drain faster than normal. Stay in the light as best as you can. Some areas of darkness, such as very dimly lit areas, decrease your sanity just by a little, and some areas that are near pitch black, way faster.

  • Added toilet paper and trash to The Office's bathrooms. You can also pick up the toilet paper, because you might have an accident along the way, you never know

  • Added/expanded the locked closet room in The Hotel that houses The Reality Market. It adds a window that shows you that the market is inside of there, hinting you need a key to enter

  • Added a hit sound when breaking wooden boards with the crowbar

  • Added 2 water coolers to The Hotel

  • Added some desk lamps on more desks in The Office to hopefully help guide a little better during a power outage

  • Added a graphics preset option. This is a work in progress. Having it on Low, Medium, or High will override all other changes. Switch to custom to manually change everything else. This will be edited in the near future.

Changes:

  • Menu key is now Escape

  • Passive sanity drain has been slowed down immensely. Major draining now only happens in the dark

  • Water cups now give you the empty cup back after consuming

  • Changed the gravity in the Aether Otherworlds so your death bag doesnt stay floating

  • Changed the death bag physics to not fly up into the sky in the Aether Otherworlds

  • Optimized some of the The Hotel's lighting by adding draw distances

  • Changes the graphics menu's dropdown box selection color from black to a teal-ish color, for easier readability

Fixes:

  • Fixed the ability to open several menus at once

  • Fixed needing to double click to use the settings menu

  • Fixed a crash that occurred upon respawning via stat drain

  • Fixed a couple of typos with the items

  • Fixed numerous spots where you could see through the mesh/outside the map

Known Issues:

  • Falling twice down the pit in The Attic doesn't damage you, will be addressed next patch
