Hello!
First things first, let's address the elephant in the room. The Item Store is gone, dead, and it won't come back. Nobody, not even a necromancer, can resurrect it.
For those unaware of what I'm talking about, we added an Item Store with an EXP Boost and a Golden Roll (items that could be obtained for free in-game) thinking it could offer a mean for our players to continuously support us and, at the same time, be rewarded with a modest boost in-game.
Unfortunately, the Item Store has been perceived as a paywall, and the fact that we intentionally avoided advertising the purchasable items (that could not be bought in-game, hence why the lack of the "In-App Purchases" tag) has been seen as we were trying to hide the shop instead.
Additionally, we encountered a bug that was blocking the in-game reward system and these items became unobtainable for many, and it surely didn't help building trust.
We are sorry for the confusion it might have caused and hope that our official statement will help you decide whether Chonkers is a game for you or not.
Said so, we are incredibly grateful for your feedback and the wave of love that Chonkers has been receiving!
v1.07 Changelog
- Fixed (hopefully) a bug preventing Steam from triggering the reward item drop upon completing the first daily task. Successive tasks have already been tested and proven to trigger the item drop correctly.
- Added a setting to toggle the right mouse click, to be able to play with cats without needing to hold down the mouse button. (Thanks Kirilee from our Discord)
- Added an icon in the examination window to further signal when a cat is a chonker, same as in the owned cats screen. (Thanks OldFool2024 from our Discord)
