Last month, we released BattleBlock Theater’s Quality of Life Remaster, welcoming all performers to return center stage and experience the game in its newly shiny, refurbished form. We appreciate all the applause and feedback we’ve received from our seasoned performers, and today we’re excited to present the Quality of DEATH Update, where we BRUTALLY MURDER some of the changes that were implemented in the Remaster! Plus, there’s a ton of bug fixes, hooray!

Legacy Fixes

All of the below changes have been implemented to make the Remaster play more similarly to the Legacy version. Please stop yelling at me!

  1. Adjusted Grenades and Teleporter interaction.

  2. Adjusted judo throws.

  3. Re-added instrumental version of Buckle Your Pants in the end credits.

  4. Removed Wonderwuzzles from a level with no secret entrance. Shhhhhh.

  5. Adjusted Boat calling to be more responsive while standing on a Boulder.

  6. Adjusted double jumping on and throwing for Frog Bombs.

  7. Adjusted vertical jumping on stacked Tar blocks.

  8. Adjusted Leaderboard point calculating.

Legacy Speedrunner

We’re adding bugs back to the game just for YOU to go FAST! Please note that there is more to come in regards to Legacy / Speedrunner fixes.

  1. Re-added Boulder tech.

  2. The Tar block slide animation now cancels player animations like air slam, slide tackle, etc.

  3. Crouching now prevents prisoners from being killed by Acid Bubbles.

  4. Players can now jump cancel an air spike when walking off a ledge.

  5. Players can now mash the jump button to traverse Treadmills going in the opposite direction more easily.

  6. Players are now able to double jump after bouncing on a Lava block from an air slam attack.

  7. Kicking Acid Bubbles is now more on par with Legacy.

  8. Players can now do a mid air Forceball jump alongside walls.
